I’m still alive!!!

Hey all, sorry I’ve been quiet on my end of the world as of late.  I was spending a lot of time sleeping and just watching stuff online from bed for a good couple of weeks and I had a doctor’s appointment last month on the 25th that told me some interesting things.  I had a wheat allergen test that came back negative.  In fact I was negative on any food allergies.  But I explained I feel a lot better after giving up gluten.  So she ordered an expensive celiac blood test that should tell me for sure if I have a gluten intolerance.  So we’ll see.  They upped my thyroid medicine so I’m feeling a lot better, but worry that I will feel bad again in a month because my thyroid will act up again.  I felt good last time and then went back to being exhausted again.  So I guess we will see.  Fingers crossed.

But moving on from that, I’ve got a Liv doll wig update.  Ok,so if you look back a few posts you will see my posts about wanting to take a Liv doll Hayden wig and making it look kind of like Rapunzel from the end of “Tangled”.  So I finally got the guts and took to snipping.  And snipping.  Andddd snipping.  And I finally came out with something that looks like this:

Hair Cut (front)

Hair Cut (rear)

So I didn’t get the choppy look I wanted…I was to scared to mess up the wig.  I think I would have needed a razor to get the look I wanted.  So I just trimmed it how I liked it and left it as is.  After fluffing it some it’s gotten kind of choppy looking and mopish.  I love it.  I’ve placed it on a Liv doll Sophie and she’s perfect.  I finally learned my character’s name will be Lucy Shay.  I am happy with the wig and it will solely belong to Lucy since it was made for her specifically.

So that is my little doll update.  I hope to be blogging here on the regular here very soon.  Be good until then my lovelies.  Bye for now.  Smile

Projects anyone?

So I’ve been trying to think of a way to kick start my year, and it hit me that I should try to strive to do monthly projects.  Just something to help get the creative juices flowing.  So I’ve come up with several projects I’d like to attempt.  I know they won’t all be done this month, but I have them ready to go for future months.  Here are some of the projects I want to work on.

Wallpaper dresses.

Ok, I feel terrible not knowing who made these dresses, but I am going to post about them anyway. A famous clothing designer collabed with a famous wallpaper distributor to make wallpaper in patterns that was in her clothing line. Then to celebrate the release of the wallpaper she created dress made from the wallpaper. I thought the were so interesting looking I had to share them.

I actually love how the dresses look so artistic and the colors are so pretty. I am wondering if these are actual dresses in the designer's line or new ones she made for this release of the wallpaper. If anyone knows the designer, would love it if you posted it down in the comments. So tell me, what do you guys think of these dresses. Pretty and realistic, or ugly and odd? Post your thoughts down below. :-)

Advent Calendars

Ok, so my family has German ties on my mom's side and from those ties I learned of Advent Calendars. My mom has been getting us one every year since we were young. She got one for us this year. LOL! I love the concept of the calendar and love looking at different versions of them. When I found one online I was hooked.

If you scroll down my blog some,on the right side you will see this same advent calendar. You click each day open as it comes and you get a new craft project to do. Its too cute honestly. If you want to put one on your site to open as you want, click on it and you will be taken to the website where you can copy the code and paste it on your blog.

I love the craft project for today. I won't ruin it for you. But once you click on it, you will see. I plan to try all these crafts...just not sure if it will be this month or not. The heart gives me some ideas though for Valentine ornaments for my shop. Ok, I just wanted to share this with you. Talk to you later.

Rabbits, rabbits, rabbits.

Photobucket

Happy December everyone! Wow, can you believe we are at the end of another year? Couple of more days and we will be saying hi and bye to Santa then mourning the death of 2009 and celebrating the birth of 2010. Crazy huh? Well I plan to be productive this December. I don't know if I will be doing a lot with my shop this month since I am debating on just putting up a few things on Etsy instead of having an Artfire or keeping Artfire for certain things and Etsy for doll related stuff. Don't know yet. Until I fully decide, I won't stress about it. What I want to stress over is clearing up my bookmarks and getting to back into the doll community that I pulled myself out of a while back. I still plan to talk about other things in my blog like writing, weight loss, random topics, fashion, etc., but I also want to talk about dolls more since I have once again found myself loving them again. And since I have found some lovely new doll friends and found more blogs I can read I plan on redoing my links to reflect that more so I can visit those blogs at least once a day or when time permits during the week.

What else? Oh yeah, so the cleaning up to much stuff doesn't just stop at all the links I have acquired. It also hints on the stuff I own. I am trying to cut back on a lot of stuff from dolls to clothes to videos...yes I said videos. Well yesterday I read, in one of my man Fitness magazines that I am trying to get rid of, that you have to alter your exercise so your body doesn't get used to it and make you stop losing. So I decided to do weights and I knew of a video I had that was good. So I went on the hunt for it in my room. And well in finding it I found something else. You'll see what below.

Exercise Videos and DVDs

That there are 20 exercise videos and dvds I have collected over the years. Barely used most of them are, and one isn't even opened! I just would see a cheap exercise video and think "Well maybe that will be the one to make me like exercise again." And well, yeah it didn't and I would forget about it and then find another cheap video. Oh man. And if you notice, Richard Simmons is most defiantly there. Three videos to be exact. I could never get into the Disco Sweat mind you...I felt silly. But...I might try it if it is something fun. I tried it once when I was younger and well I felt so silly, but now I think I am beyond that stage of having to look "cool" at all times. LOL!

Exercise Videos and DVDs

Another view of my exercise videos and dvds. I mean wow. And that's just a tiny part of my collection of videos and dvds. I am thinking of getting rid of most of my videos. I might try to sell some on my blog in the future to see if anyone is interested in them. They won't be for much. Just enough to make a little something on them to help me buy a doll or two. LOL! So what else?

Oh yeah, so I am working some furniture for some stories I plan on doing. I am still working on the kitchen sink. I actually pulled the sink apart and redid it because it was centered in the island and when I put a doll against it after it was all done I was broken-hearted to see that it was to awkward for a doll to use. So I took it apart and now I like it. At first I didn't want to take it apart but the perfectionist part of me wouldn't let me rest unless I did and I am so happy I did. Now there is counter surface which I wanted. I will take pictures of it later when I seal and finish it.

Office Desk

The other piece of furniture will be made from this. I had this dresser when I was a kid and got rid of it when I was older. I was happy to find it again when I was in the Salvation Army a while back. The mirror wasn't there, but I still saw potential in it. I think it would make a great desk. So I am working on it. I wanted to take a before picture before I started on it. Pictures of it soon, maybe tomorrow, of the work in progress.

Well that's about it for me today. Oh, before I go, I wanted to share this with you. My sister showed it to me the other day and it just made me giggle. Hope you enjoy.

Ok ladies and gents, I will talk to you lovelies later...tomorrow. :-) Be good until then, and bye for now! :-D

An update!

Ok, so I am giving up on writing for today and decided to update here real quick before bed.

So I wasn't sure what to talk about first. So I will just talk about what came first. My Barbie Fashionistas. I just recently completely my collection. Very excited about that. I was going to switch the last three blondes I got out with other dolls, but I just can't ruin the set. Ugh! Oh well. Here is some pic spam of my girls plus my Alvin Ailey doll.

All the Girls Together

Alix

Fashionista Barbie

Fashionista Barbie

Fashionista Barbie

Fashionista Barbie

Fashionista Barbie

Fashionista Barbie

I love these gals. I can't wait to get them in some photostories and in some clothes to take pictures of them. Of course my camera is getting ready to die and I am out of batteries. Ugh! Oh well, I will get some soon enough. Just being lazy now. But they are just to cool.

So from there I go into the crafts I have been working on.

Crafted Poofs

The knitted poofs, made on my grandmother's vintage knitting machine, are going to be made into something. I've already made one thing and I am not a big fan of it, but it was a prototype. I will take a picture of it soon for you all. Just need to get my sister to model it for me. But hummmm, what could this be for? :-)

Next is a doll craft.

Kitchen Sink

So I have a doll house I have used in doll photostories once or twice but I hated it because it doesn't have a kitchen sink. How weird is that? So I wanted to make one. My mom had a bathroom sink to one of my sisters old Barbie bathrooms and I started thinking on how to make it work. Then I got a box a while back that was perfect Barbie height and island width. So the other day when I was feeling sick, to get my mind off things I went to work on it. Its still a work in progress. This first picture is where I glued the sink into a hole I cut into the box. It needed to be weighed down.

The Kitchen Sink

This next one is it all glued together with the sink painted a metallic grey. Also you can barely see it, but there are pin posts in the cabinet doors. I thought they would work but I didn't like them. But I already glued them in. Damn! But I adjusted them to make them a little more visible. Pictures to come of the final product soon.

And one more picture for you comedy relief.

A Lazy Moment

A couple of weeks ago I was sitting in my craft room on the laptop getting into something online. I didn't want to get up and turn the light on when it started to get dark, but I couldn't see the plug under my desk to plug in my laptop. So what did I do? I tried to flash the camera so I can use the flash to guide my hand. Well...the flash was to quick so I had to get up any way. *FAIL* LOL! So yeah, in case any of you wanted to know, the camera flash is to quick to use as a light. Ok that just gave me an idea for a thriller/horror story. Hummm...yep, gonna use it in a story that I am continuing on next month.

Well, I had better stop before I write a novel. Just wanted to update you all on what I have been up to. I am off now to feed my ferret, brush my teeth, and crawl into bed with a book. Tomorrow I need to get back to writing...but what? Hummm...I'll worry about it tomorrow. Bye for now.

New forum, NaNoWriMo, and dollies...oh my!

Photobucket

I know! I know! I'm such a bad blog owner as of late. The past few days have been filled with friend drama, family drama, personal drama, and its finally settled out some. SOME! Ugh, still a lot to deal with, but I need to get my game face on and get ready for November first. That date is just glowing in my mind like a neon beer sign. Its exciting to learn about more and more people that will be going through the chaos with me. Nat, I will so need to buddy you and Erica on the Nano site. What are your Nano nicks and I'll buddy you. Would love to give and get support, I am attempting two novels and I am still outlining the first one. I got lazy this month. Ahhh!!! But I work better under pressure anyway. Yeah. *Nervously bites fingernails.*

So in other news, I have been working on a forum for dolls and toys and I thought I would open it on Halloween, but decided against that. I decided to open it now to hopefully get some people to help me beta test it. The forum is call The Toy Box - Doll and Toy Forum. The first 50 members will have instant access to the Marketplace since I will need to test it out. I will also need moderators for the forum as well. I just want some people to go on there and try everything out. There is a chatroom on there that refreshes every 5 seconds. Its pretty cool. It keeps the chat of the last people who used it so you can see what was talked about and respond. I also have an adult section for more mature posting or for those adults who would rather have their convo be for mature eyes only. So please feel free to join the forum and pass the link on to your other doll and toy friends.

Well I guess I need to explain a bit about the forum first. Ok, so I have been looking for a place that I can share about any doll I own be it Barbie to Blythe to a ball-joint doll. Most doll forums have strict rules on what you can share on their forums. That's cool, but I just wanted to share more. I also wanted to allow toys on the forum for those that wanted to share their new toy finds. This is all in beta right now and some things may work and some may not. I will adjust things as they level out. But if you are looking for a place to come chat about dolls and toys of any kind...well not the porno kind, then please stop by and register. A lot of the board is visible without registering, but you can't comment unless you do register. There are some off topic boards along with the Marketplace and Adult Lounge that are not visible to guests. I felt those sections needed to be kept private. The Marketplace and Adult Lounge can only be accessed when rights are given. The first 50 people will get instant access to them, but after that, members will have to go by the access gaining rules, which aren't really that hard to do. So yeah, check out The Toy Box and let me know what you think. Send me plenty of pms, I'm mouse1996 on there. Please so not send anything to member Test, as it was just made for me to test for things like what can guests see whatnot.

And finally onto dollies. So I have this big project I want to take on. I want to sew up baggies and outfits for several dolls for Christmas for the Salvation Army. I have decided to keep it simple and just sew a tube and make a dress out of that for all the doll out of stretch fabric using Dorriebelle's concept for making sock clothing. I have tons of it and don't know what to do with it, so I will use it up on this project. Not sure how many I will make, especially since this November is book solid.

I know I will have a few days in December to work on it, but I don't want to get so behind that I don't complete anything. Still need to pull out all my old dolls and give them a wash and brush. Then I need to figure out my quick pattern for a dress and I plan to make cloth boots that will look more like socks. I picked that method since I don't know if these dolls will go to really young children who might swallow regular shoes. You know, I always wondered why when we are young, swallowing odd things didn't bother us. Hummmm... Anyway, yeah, so I need to hit the ole fabric stash and bring out all the dolls that I plan to use. This will help greatly reduce what I own and give someone a smile. I'm rather excited to do this. :-) Oh yeah, I want to make baggies for each doll as well so the kids and carry them around or use the baggies as purses. I also wanted to make little cards to go on the pull ties that say Merry Christmas from Santa, but I don't know if this is only for Christmas. I believe it is, but I think to be safe I should just say Happy Holidays. What do you all think? Hummm...

Well that's about it for today peeps. I may come back a bit later to post about some stuff I have been working on. I want to work on my outline a lot today since the 31st will be here in now time and I told myself I will be done and ready to go by the 31st. I am sleepy now, but I can sleep tomorrow away. I must outline. I am stuck on chapter 1 of novel 1. Getting nervous here. I am worried this year I won't win. But I would hate to not make it to 50,000. Ahhhh!!! Ok, I am off. Later kiddies.

I'm backkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!

Photobucket

Did you miss me? Did you? Did you?! Did you?!? I hope so. ;-)

So what has my sexy self been up to? Not a damn thing. :-D Ok, so maybe not that. Let's see here. I went through my sad moment that kept me from feeling like blogging. Then I was dealing with some stuff with a friend who is trying to get away from her husband...still dealing with that and I am SO torn on what to do. Part of me wants to help her get away and the other part of me wants them to make up for the kids' sake. Its just so confusing with that, and I may post more about that in another post. Right now, this is all about moi. :-D

I've also been outlining for two novels I will be writing next month. So far its going ok, but time is running out and I still outlining novel one and the second one I am still trying to figure out. Ahhhh...I want to be ready to go by October 31st. *sigh* Anyone else joining me in this chaos? Please do, we can cheer each other on. :-)

What else? Oh, I've decided to donate some dolls to chartity. It seems there won't be enough toys to go around this year for the kids. So I am planning on cleaning up some of the dolls I have and sew them a little dress and baggie and send them on their way to the Salvation Army. I hope my little bit can help make a Happy Christmas for someone. But I need to get working on that now. This November is going to be crazy. I still need to find an easy pattern to sew. I want to make it so I can sell them also when I get back to my shop that I need to put on vacation mode for November. With my friend coming back to town, me trying to get back on track with life, writing two novel, doing dolls for chairity, Thanksgiving, my dad getting ready to retire and helping my mom get ready for that...well trying to run a shop just doesn't work for me right now. :-( I only have three things up right now, so that's ok, but I wish I could have sold something. Here is the link, I have put it in vaca mode, but you can see some of what I've been working on up in the banner. The Goodie Bag

I will put it back up after NaNoWriMo is over. Hope I can still get into some of the Christmas action. I would like to be up and open for Black Friday, that weekend, and then Black Monday with a sale on items. Will have to see how things turn out.

Photobucket

Ok, just curious, does anyone think this Hard Rock Cafe Barbie looks a bit like Amy Winehouse?

Photobucket

Ok, that was just nagging me, so I had to mention it. LOL! Ok, is there anything else? Oh, I am going up and down when it comes to my exercise and diet. I was doing good and got to 2 and half weeks of exercising every day, then one day it was cold and I didn't feel like doing it and BAM! no more exercise for 2 days. Need to do it today, but don't want to. Will do it around 10. I will stick to 15 miles a day instead of 15 miles twice a day. That just makes me not want to do it. But I can do 10 miles to quickly now. Ugh! And the diet has been crap lately. Ugh! Ok, enough about that. I need to call my friend in a few so I will close for now. Talk to you all tomorrow.

Its 6:24 am...

Photobucket

And I'm up. But this time I just woke up about 12 minutes ago. Yep, trying to change my pattern. We'll see how well it goes. I am tired, but I usually am at this time no matter if I slept or not. But at least I can stay up all day and not continue to get more tired. :-)

So I plan on writing for a couple of hours, exercise, then craft, then update shop, then work on forum, then hummm...not sure.

The only sucky thing is is that I had to go to bed without speaking to my boyfriend first on the phone. I called him when I crawled into bed and got to speak to him for like 30 seconds because he had a patient on the table but I would have liked to have talked to him more. I hope I will get to today before he takes off for work...when I am usually asleep. LOL!

Ok, going to write now for a while. Hope you all have a great day.

Finally!!! Oh yeah, and Happy Thursday and Happy October!!!

Photobucket

Ok, so last night I was working on my shop and it deleted my stop policies every time I tried to save them. After the second time I finally got smart and started saving it in Notepad first. But it didn't keep me from getting frustrated. Well today I typed in "Coming soon." and it stayed so I tried putting my policies back in. Wouldn't save!!! Tried a few more times and almost gave up when I decided to take out some of the spaces I had between lines. Saved perfectly. Then I saw I had an error and needed to take it out. I took it out, clicked save, and covered my eyes...seriously. I looked back and it was still there!!! Yes!!! So no today my task is to upload a few things and then get to work on new stuff. I feel so nervous opening a shop, but its something I really want to do. I just wonder how I will do on Artfire.

Here are my thoughts on Artfire. Its new, but closing the gap between Etsy traffic and them. They are still in beta working things out, but I feel once they do work things out that a lot of Etsy people will move over or at least open a second shop there. It honestly reminds me of Myspace and Facebook. Myspace was the big cheese a while back and everyone had an account opened there. Then Facebook opened and it took a while for them to work out their kinks and now its now on level if not more popular than Myspace. I think Artfire will be the same and soon the traffic will come. I'm hoping to be able to go verified by the end of the month. I would like to have the perks of a verified member and perhaps see about becoming a Maven. Right now I just want to work on my shop and get into a flow with it so I won't have to worry about the structure of it and just create and upload it. Ugh! So much work, but if I can start selling stuff then it will be worth it. Right now I just frustrated, but that will pass I'm sure once I get a flow to things.

Ok, so mostly this post was to vent. I'm off to edit some pictures and take a few more before I'm out of daylight. Wish I had morning light to use, but go to bed late and no morning light for you. Oh well. Happy Thursday everyone one, and Happy October!!!

Happy Tuesday everyone!!!

Photobucket

Nothing really to say today guys. I'm worn out. I didn't go to sleep until around 7 this morning...well I was in bed before that but I was reading my self-help book on writing. I have such mixed thoughts on this book. I will be able to review it soon for you all. But then around 11:50 something my door bell rings like crazy and a member of my family brings in the two cases of flat rate boxes I ordered. Finally! LOL! Now all I need are some small envelopes and bubble wrap. But today I remembered I wanted to send off for a free item and needed to get it post marked by tomorrow. Well I couldn't find on of the tokens I saved and so I went through my room and craft room looking for it. In the process I dirtied and cleaned up both rooms, but they still need a touch of straightening, but this search got me to do something I hate to do and try to avoid as much as possible. Never found the token, which is ok. Got cleaner rooms and minus some loads of laundry and a good vaccum, they will look perfect. Also started looking through my doll stuff and started seeing stuff I am ready to purge. So I am hoping to get a start on that and the laundry and vacuuming tomorrow. Fingers crossed. :-) But other than that I didn't do much today. If I have time tomorrow I plan on starting on my clay beads and getting them ready for sale and then I will have them done. Then this weekend I hope to get pictures of all my stuff and upload them to Artfire and see if I can start selling stuff finally. Fingers crossed. Ok lovelies, I am off to bed. See you tomorrow.

Happy Sunday!!!

Hey guys, thought I'd get an early start on today's post. Just checked the online sales fliers and found out that Hobby Lobby has got McCalls patterns for 99 cents and Hancock Fabrics has Simplicity patterns for 99 cents. So, if you were planning on grabbing any patterns...like the Snuggie pattern, this week is the week to do it. Get the Snuggie one early, those suckers sell out fast. LOL!

Ok, I'm off peeps. I feel sick as a dog. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I had some today and my stomach is showing me the error of my ways. :-( Talk to you lovelies again soon. Bye for now.

Happy Saturday!!!

Photobucket

Hey guys! So today I finally checked to see if my Paypal account had been verified. Yep. So now I can withdrawal more than 500 dollars a month. Do you sense I am dreaming big in regards to my online shop? Well hells, you've gotta aim high right? Now I just need the boxes I ordered, and from what I read over at Artfire, they are changing Basic accounts for the holidays so Basic members have unlimited uploads instead of just 12. I'm not sure if its been put into action yet, but that would be cool, if I make a money off my shop then I will become verified by the end of the year. Fingers crossed! So I finally finished my photo cubes. No pics yet. I need to take some nice pictures of them first, but they are so cute. My mom wants to buy one of them off me, and there is one I really want to keep because its sooooo cute. So we will see. If those two are kept I will upload pictures of them here without a fancy photoshoot.

Well that's all I wanted to really say on this lovely Saturday. Talk to you lovelies later.

More prototypes.

So I am still working on the perfect pattern for my Blythe sweaters with thinner yarn and thicker yarn. So far I am seeing I need to go bigger on most of them and longer on the ones I am mixing with fabric.

Sweater prototype

So the first one I want to show is the fuzzy orange sweater that I am still trying to perfect. The back is still a hair long, but its getting closer to what I want. But I think I need to go longer on this sweater by a hair.

Sweater prototype (closeup)

But I so love how fuzzy the sweater looks. I wonder how it will look with skirts attached. I hope to have a finished prototype for you soon.

sweater3

This is another one that will have a skirt, but I will be flipping the top around. It doesn't look good on this side. I thought it would look interesting, but in pictures it shows how crappy it does look. So gonna try it again. It also needs to be a bit bigger in back and a hair longer.

Sweater Prototype

This is a long sweater that I like the length on, but the back needs to be a hair bigger to help close it comfortably. So hopefully I will have some prototypes and finished outfits for you soon. Ok, just wanted to update you on what I'm doing in the background. Talk to you lovelies later.

Forgot a couple of posts I wanted to make.

So I decided to make them now. I just can't get my butt offline yet. Ahhh. I am listening to the Handmade podcast right now and then it reminded me about some posts I hadn't made yet.

Hat ear closeup.

So a couple of weeks ago I bought a cute knit cap from the Halloween section of Target. I thought it looked so cute, but once I saw myself in it, I just thought I looked horrible. So I was on the way to return it when my mom said she'd buy it off me and give it to my sister for Christmas because she had mentioned to her that she liked it. Meh, why not. I don't have to go into the store then to stand in line. LOL!

Hat

So what I didn't like about the cap is the brim. I like my brims straight across. And I love the cat ears, but I would like to see some mouse ears on a cap. So I am going to attempt to make myself a cap in the form of a mouse. And it will have that heart detail. I loved that heart detail. So I wanted to share with you my ex-cap and my plans on making a new one. Just need to find the right kind of yarn. Humm, I'm getting a thought. Pink anyone? :-D

Ok, one more before I go.

I saw this and had to share.

Happy Thursday!!!

Yes, I know it technically isn't Thursday everywhere yet, but it is for and and for most of the world, heck in some places its already TGIF...lucky bastards. ;-) But I wanted to get a jump start because I will be signing off in a bit and working on craft stuff since I am finally getting the ball rolling with my shop.

Anyway, so while I was searching around on Etsy today, I found this uber cool sleep mask that I covet.

Blythe eyes!!! Ahhhh, is it not the most?!? I wish it were on the pink eyes however, but I'd still so wear it. Only thing I didn't like about them is the item description that called Blythe dolls creepy. I beg your pardon, Blythes are soooo cute thank you very much. Geez. Click on the picture to be taken to the item offering. Also click on the shop link to see more of their masks. They have dogs, bugs, view master, etc. Very cool stuff.

Well, I just wanted to share that with you all. I'm going to craft a bit and attempt to call it an early night. Bye for now

More of my miniature shopping spree.

So, while at Big Lots, I bought a couple more things besides my coveted Alvin Ailey doll.

Things I picked up at Bigga Lots.

Ok, so I had seen this book there for a while and passed it by, but on Saturday I just decided to pick it up and give it a try. I have decided not to judge books by their cover anymore and read the story and make my own choice about the story. I'll do a book review when I finish. I have SEVERAL book reviews to do actually. Just need to scan all the covers. I plan on redoing some of my old reviews too, so look forward to that. :-D

Next is the yarn. When I went to Big Lots a couple of weeks back, I saw this yarn and wanted to try it for Autumn doll sweaters. I went back last week and pick up a completely different one, but it looked so similar I thought it was that one. But when I was there Saturday, I saw I got the wrong one, so I picked up this one. Can't wait to try it out.

The toy I saw right before I checked out. Its a little terry cloth dog toy that I picked up for my ferret to play with and hide...more like just hide actually. Which reminds me, she is due a running before it gets to late. Ugh, not looking forward to that. She's like several 2-year-olds in one. LOL!

So on to the topic of crafting, I am doing some finishing touches on my photo cubes I have been working on. The dry time is the worst part. But I think they came out cute. I will be selling them two together. I will have 3 pairs to sell when I am all done. Then I will be moving to doll clothing for a while. But I wanted to show you the recent photo cube I've been working on. Its a serious WIP, but still want to show it. Excuse the blurry pics, my macro setting sucks without a ton of natural light, but you can get the idea of the color.

Here is the original color I painted on the cube.

Green Paint Number 1

Here's the second color.

Green Paint Number 2

Here's the third color.

Green Paint Number 3

Here's the fourth color.

Green Paint Number 4

So, what color did I go with? Well I picked this one.

Green Paint Cube

Then decided against it and made a mix of one of them and another color which came out a little nicer. I will show you the outcome of the cube when I am done. I guess I will show them all off right before I put them in the shop. I am waiting on some flat rate boxes to be mailed my way. Its the cheapest way I see on shipping items and I order two cases of them. That was the only thing holding me back. Woo hoo! We are in business!!! Can't wait to have my "Grand Opening". LOL! Well that's all for now. Gonna go work on that cube a bit more, play a game on Facebook...ugh, catch up on some blogs, and work on my shop some. Bye for now. :-)

Crafting again.

Today I got back to crafting a bit. I am working on photo cubes. They are pretty fun to work on, but I hate waiting for the drying times. Right now they needs to dry over night because I'm using some glitter glue on them. I also used watercolor pencils on them. I think they are turning out nice. I want to make them look simple since the base is so small. I think I am managing that. I will take pictures when they are all done. I have two that are blank, still deciding what to do with it. I kind of want to make them collage cubes. Still thinking about it. But I have 4 that are drying. Then tomorrow i think I will be working on my clay beads and get those done. Then I am jumping back into doll clothing for a while. So that's about it for me.

I return.

Sunset 7/22/09

Hey guys! I know, I've been MIA for a while now. Why? Because of several reasons actually. First off, I didn't really have anything to blog about. I am mostly in the progress of making stuff for my shop and researching up on my shop about things like when I will need to look into getting a tax number and whether or not I want to pay to get verified now or later. Since I am just trying things out, I figure I will try basic for a month and if I do well I will try becoming verified. We'll see what happens.

But yeah, I've mostly been catching up on watching things online while I knit. I have some cute things made already and I love them all. I also bought some fabric transfer stuff to make labels for everything, but still am trying to decide on a logo. So I am doing a lot of work on this and trying to make my dream a reality finally.

What else? Hummm, I have decided I want to make my blog more about me. I have never been the one to make anything about me, and I think that's why I had MySpace and Facebook so much. I killed my MySpace and only reopened my Facebook to keep up with the few friends there, especially one of my friends who is recently pregnant. Love ya Heather! Oh my, did I just do a shoutout in my blog? LOL! But yeah, I want to let my readers know more about me and really just start enjoying blogging again. So expect some pictures of interesting things in my life to be popping up soon. Just need to edit and pop them into Flickr. I won't show them all at once so I don't run out of material and then disappear again for a couple of weeks. LOL! But yeah, I'm still here. Just been busy. I'm also trying again to lose weight and I will update my ticker on here for Weigh-In Wednesday for those of you interested in that. Not much writing has been going on...kind of hard to knit and write at the same time...but I have been writing ideas for stories down as they come to me. I am REALLY thinking about going back to school for a degree in writing. Is that crazy? Ok, I know it is, but I really want it. We'll see.

Speaking of books. This morning I finished reading a novella that was just so sweet. Now mind you, it was a romance novella AND it play a lot on using your imagination...which kind of put me off...but for what it was worth, it was a sweet story. It is part of a collection of romance novella's in this book I got at the Dollar Tree. If you are into reading romance novels or novellas then check out the Dollar Tree this week. I know all of mine in town have the books so others must too. I want to go back and get a few more, but I will wait until I finish the few I bought and if there are any left then I will get them. But for now I have a shelf full of books I need to read. But this story was based on an elderly woman who lived her whole life alone because she didn't listen to her heart and marry a man she had just met a Christmas party that was held for the troops getting ready to take off for England during World War II. I like the basis for the story and if some of the parts of it weren't so drawn out like the kept stressing how it was all possible due to Christmas Magic and how she went back in time for second chance, and well it was kind of korny in the sense, but the structure for the story was pretty good. I'm on the second novella now, and so far it starts off korny. We'll see where it ends up. Oh for those who don't know, a novella is basically a short story between 17,500 to 40,000 words or about 50-100 pages long. So not really a novelette and not really a novel. Just in between.

Humm, anything else? Guess not now. I have pictures to show you, like I said, but that will be in other posts. So I guess I will close for now. Its almost 2:30 in the morning and I am ready to do some exercise. LOL! Talk to you all later. Be good until then. :-)
