Barbie Dream House at nOir Jewlery

So while I was on Facebook today I was looking at some of the doll related pages I liked on there.  I ended up on Barbie’s page and saw a recent post about the Barbie jewelry collection at nOir.  I’ve never heard of nOir before, but now that I have I’m in LOVEEEE.  This is the thing that made me check them out.

A Barbie Dream House ring.  But oh, it gets better.

It opens up!!!  And it still gets better!

Detailed interior with chandelier.  What is not to love?  That is just so flipping cute.  I’m assuming you can wear this on two fingers but I think I’d just wear it on one and show the inside if someone asks about it or just to show it off.  So awesome.

Not doll related I had to show another ring I love because it’s another miniature.

Gotham City, on a ring.  Loveeeee!

Another angle.

And yet another angle.  I’m so in love with both these rings.  They website has more Barbie jewelry and just amazing jewelry period.  I’m heading back to look and drool at more because that is all I can do for now. The Barbie ring is $175 and the Gotham City ring is $225.  So while I think they’d both be so worth it, I just don’t have that kind of cash to slap down and say “Yes! Take my monies and give me the awesome rings!!!”  But until I can say that, here’s hoping to win the lottery one day, I shall sit back and drool and admire and dream.  Smile

Hair Project Update

So I took the Bantu knots out and finger brushed the twists loose.  I ended up with a mane that would make any lion green with envy.

Hair Project

It has a lot of volume which I kind of like.  A LOT of volume.

Hair Project

I had to have her hold the hair out of her face so you could see it.  The hair is like soft wavy falls down her back, but I wonder how this will look in a shorter cut.  Not sure.

Hair Project

Look at how poofy it is now.  I mean it was poofy to a certain degree before, but now it’s really out there.

Hair Project

So this is the current results.  I will attempt to cut it tomorrow.  Man I hope it’ll look good.  Maybe I should run some water through it again and just make it straight.  It’s so poofy.  I want some poof but not poodle poof.  Meh, I’ll think about it.  And you can see in the background on the left another project I’ve yet to return to.  I have a post I need to make about her too.  Soon my darlings.  Soon.  But for now I’m off.  Going to catch up reading some Sin in the City and then maybe some Netflix before bed.  Bye for now my lovelies.  Be good until next time.  Smile

Hair Project–The Wavey Haired Bob

Hair Project

So recently I was given a Liv doll Hayden wig.  I have this wig several times and decided to try something with this one.  On one of the wigs I was taking the hair out to use it to reroot different hair into it, and was cutting the hair short to remove it and saw it looked super cute as a bob.  But I wanted to reroot it so I took it all out.  Well this my attempt of recreating that look with a spin on it.

Hair Project

So this is what the Hayden wig I chose to style looks like.  I took out the two front Braids and brushed them out.  Then I boiled some water and dipped the hair into the hot water.  I was thinking I was going to straighten out the curls from the braids but then thought I wanted to keep the wave and just try to put it all over.  So I tried to straighten out some of the braids a tiny bit so that it wouldn’t look weird when I did the all over style and would just blend in.

Hair Project

So after the hair is brushed out I made two strand twists all over and then twisted the twists over themselves to make a weird version of a Bantu knot.

Hair Project

I let that dry overnight but I’ve yet to check it out.  I will do that soon in a bit.  I won’t cut it until tomorrow when I have some daylight.  One of the bulbs in that room went out so it’s rather dark and I want to see what I am doing while I cut because doll hair has this pesky way of not growing back for some reason.  Winking smile

So this is the look I am ultimately going for.  A choppy look, but I wanted mine to have some waves in it.

{Image From Disney’s Rupunzel}

I want the hair to be about the same length as well.  I just want some waves.  I so hope it turns out to look like that.  I’m super nervous it won’t.  I want the hair to fit a character in the new doll storyline I will be starting next year.  Yes I am starting to prepare and collect for it now.  LOL!  But yeah, that is what I am working on now.  I am doing a lot of hair projects lately.  After this I am returning to rerooting.  I have another head to root for my sister and then two Liv doll wig caps to reroot.  I have pictures to share of all that too, but it’ll come in time.

And that’s all for now kids.  Just wanted to show you my current project.  I am off now to check on those Bantu knots and hope it turned out the way I wanted.  Fingers crossed tightly and wish me luck peeps.  Talk to you all tomorrow.  Be good until then.  Bye for now.

Marwencol

So at the suggestion of John on his blog I decided to watch Marwencol. In just the first few seconds of the movie I was in awe of what this man had put together. It was amazing and just put me into the time and story he was trying to tell with his dolls/figures. But then it hit me. Anyone outside of the hobby would think this guy had gone off his rocker completely. I mean a grown man playing in his backyard with toys...not too sane, right? But from a person's pov in the hobby, I just found it so mesmerizing and I wanted to check out the actual place so badly.  However, after the first few seconds we learn that the town came to be because of mental issues that the man, named Mark, was facing and dealing with.

Freaky Just Got Funny

So I was surfing Tumblr today and was looking at some Monster High dolls and found some knock-offs that I so want to buy.  Open-mouthed smile

{source}

Do you guys recognize your favorite ghouls?  I want!  I want so bad!  I have always love baby dolls since I was a child, and these cuties would be such cute decorations.  I know a lot of Monster High fans will dislike them and people who don’t like baby dolls, but I just think they are adorable. LOL!  Not sure where one would find these guys, I’m feeling they are hard to find.  Poo.  Sad smile  Who knows, maybe I will get lucky and come across them somewhere.  I just had to share this with your guys.  Talk to you soon.  Bye for now.  Smile

Mattel, it’s a win/win baby.

Ok, so I am still working on my bookmarks, and finding a lot of dead links and good links and…I’m getting off topic.  Well in looking through my links I saw mention that MGA won against Mattel.  What?!? Where have I been?  I seriously need to find a good news website to look at.  Any good websites out there people?  I seldom watch it on tv so toss’em at me.  Anyway, so it seems that the court found in favor of MGA and basically said that MGA was in their right to look at the drawings and sculpts done by Bryant and say “Neat idea!  We’re gonna take that and slap it with our own magic dust and see what comes out.”  Now MGA did get a slap on the hand for interfering with Bryant’s contract with Mattel, and they do have to pay Mattel 10,000 dollars for that.  But Mattel owes, right now, MGA roughly 89 million, that I believe could triple once things like lawyers fees are calculated in.  Damnnnn Mattel.  Add on to all of this that no sooner the verdict was read that Mattel’s stocks fell and continued to fall throughout the day.  But I love the last bit of the verdict that I couldn’t agree with more.  “America thrives on competition; Barbie, the all-American girl, will too.”  So true.

Persepolis

Just watched this movie and thought I’d share it with you all.  It’s about a young in 1978 in Iran and things that happen in her life up to about 1994.  I found this view of Iran and the version seen from a young girl to be interesting.  The movie starts the year I was born so it was extra interesting to see how she lived and to think back to how I lived back then and just can’t even begin to imagine how she handled all she went through.  It’s really an amazing peek in a part of the world many of us may not know about.  Enjoy.

Going to attempt my bookmarks again. No really.

Hey guys.  So I am sitting here thinking to myself that I really need to go through my bookmarks and pull out all the awesome links I have to cool blogs I’ve found so I can make a blogroll for them.  But I am super tired, I’m waiting on the boyfriend to call me, and did I mention I’m super tired.  No, I didn’t do anything really strenuous today, but it doesn’t take much to tucker me out.  I so need to get back to exercising and dieting.  Meh, tomorrow.  But today I’m trying to work up the courage to do at least some of my bookmarks.  I had started before and it just got to be so much that I quit.  Well I’m willing to try it again and just work on it until I get it all done.  I have so much crap in my bookmarks and I have some decent links in there I don’t want to toss.  So I will attempt to clean them up instead of deleting them and starting over.  Wish me luck.  Once I get it done I feel I will be on the fast track to get well getting back on track.  Ok, so I am off.  I need to stop making excuses and doing things (like blogging) to keep me from just doing it.  If I’m not back in a week send for help.  Winking smile  Night all…or morning or afternoon depending on where you are.  Smile

Liv in Wonderland

Hey guys, so the other day I bought two new dolls.  The Liv in Wonderland Sophie and the Liv in Wonderland Alexis dolls that are Target Exclusives…damn I hate exclusives.  I honestly wanted the whole set, but they are a bit pricey.  I mostly wanted the whole set for their wigs, I am in love with Liv doll wigs and can’t get enough.  I am currently rerooting two and one I will be cutting and styling.  And yes, I want more and more and more.  Love them.  LOL!  But I wanted to show you pictures of my new girls.
