Livejournal Writer's Block

Ok, so as some of you know, I cross post this journal onto LiveJournal. Well on LiveJournal, they have things things call Writer's Block to give people to something to write about. The most recent one caught my attention, but I wanted to post about it both here and there. So here goes. The question was:

If you could be a member of any musical group, past or present, which group would you choose and why?

The first band I remember wanting to join was The Party. I don't know if anyone remembers them. They formed in the Mickey Mouse Club in the 90s and then broke off from that on their own. They had several albums out, I own them all except the Greatest Hits one, only because it was repeats of songs I already own. :-)

During the time I found them I was going through a hard time in life. Dealing with stress from school and stress at home. I fell in love with the idea of being in a band, leaving home to go touring, singing for your fans, and of course making tons of money. ;-) I actually remember writing a fan letter to The Party asking if I could join their group. I told them how hard my life was and how I hated it and needed to get away for a while. Silly, I know, but I was a young girl who'd do anything to get away from the hardships she had to deal with. :-) I'm not kidding, I was even thinking of how I could spend my allowance on bribe gifts to send them so they'd feel guilty enough to let me join. LOL! Now I don't know if this was just plain stupid or just plain smart for a gal the age I was at the time. When I think of it now, I see it as a pretty smart move for negotiations. LOL! Ok, moving on.

Sadly I never got to send my letter off to the band. My mom found the letter, secretly hidden in a record sleeve that was in between my stereo and and a ton of junk on my dresser. Yes, she was snooping through my room for something. Never found out what it was. She was to angry about the letter to tell me why she was in my room in the first place. Humm...can you kind of see why I wanted to join the band? Yeah. LOL!

The next band I wanted to join was New Kids on the Block. Yes, I know they were a boy band, but I just thought they could use a girl in their group. And I even had it pictured perfectly in my mind. Joey and I would be the couple of the group and I would mostly sing backup for them except for a few songs that were specially written for me. Can you tell I had a creative mind in my youth? LOL!

When I sang along with their songs I would always add my own twist to it, I guess to prove to myself that I was right and they needed a girl to join them. LOL! *sigh* Sadly that didn't turn out either...just in case you didn't know. I never wrote them a letter asking to join their group...I had learned from the first letter that I didn't have any privacy so why chance another "lecture". Oh well. I'm actually glad that none of my wishes panned out. Seeing how being in the public eye can really mess you up, that's not what I would have wanted for myself. I am for the most part happy with how I grew up and where my life is right now.

Anyway, I'm much more for private fame. You know, the kind that comes from writing a bestselling novel? Now all I need to do is find a best selling author and learn all I can from them. Oh, maybe even get them to talk to their agent to get me published! Yeah! Humm...I wonder where I can get J.K. Rowling's address? ;-)

J.K., feel free to call me and I'll let you have a peek at my manuscript. ;-)

Ok, I just had to share this with you guys. I am now officially embarrassed at how silly I was when I was young, but I am sure we all had our weird thoughts and well we all need to embarrass ourselves every now and again to remind us we are human. ;-) Talk to you all later. I've got several reviews coming up. Look forward to that. :-) Bye for now.

Loves ya,
Mouse

  1. Haha, what a great post! I had pretty much the exact same New Kids fantasy going on! I wanted to get away and go on tour with them soooo bad! I used to watch all their behind the scenes videos, and imagine what it would be like to live on the tour bus with them, lol! They were going to write me my own special songs too-- I guess we have had to share Joe;)

I don't really remember The Party, but wow, gotta love those totally 90's videos and dance moves! That brought back some awful fashion memories, lol!

Super fun post, and I'm looking forward to your reviews!

Now, what kind of bribe gift do you think J.K. Rowling would like...

  2. Omg, it's so nice to know that I wasn't the only one who had those dreams and wishes. LOL! We can totally share Joe. We'll both get three days a week and let him rest on Sunday. ;-)

Ah yes, gotta love those 90s fashions. Back then I LOVED them. Now...not so much. LOL!

And I'm still working on JK's bribe gift. What do you get a gal that has it all? Hehehe, the plot to her next best seller perhaps? ;-)
