Is Anybody Else Annoyed About The Jem and The Holograms Movie?

Ok, so I hope this all comes out clearly and not a mesh of "WTF was she trying to say?", because I am heated and just typing off the top of my head. Ok, that is actually a fun mental picture of my trying to type on my laptop while it's on my head, but let's get back on track here people. And let me say, that while I am bummed about how it seems the movie will go, this post was written in fun as I found out the newest info out there. So no worries, I have not actually blown a gasket, even though my beloved childhood cartoon is being racked through the coals. *ahem* On with the post.

Ok, so if you haven't heard, Jem and The Holograms is going to be made into a live action movie. If you don't know about Jem and The Holograms, it was a cartoon in the 80s about an all female singing group. The show had to be my favorite cartoon as a child and still is now as an adult. I have literally seen every episode of the cartoon and I love that it's still popular to this day. I love that younger generations are able to enjoy it through Netflix and The Hub. I think more 80s stuff should get a chance at this kind of new generation love.

So the director of G.I. Joe Retaliation and his two buddies decided that Jem and her posse needed a live action movie of their own. Great, right? I'm not so sure. In their video calling out to fans to participate, someone made a very interesting comment. Three men are going to make a live action movie about an all female singing group. The cartoon itself is very much about females and girl power, and I just don't know if three men who "blow shit up" for a living in their live action films can actually give Jem the justice the show deserves. Don't get me wrong, I was slightly excited when I first heard about this movie, but there was a bigger part of me that felt that Hollyweird was going to find some way to mess things up. And today was the first major clue that I wasn't far from right on my thoughts.

The girls picked to play Jem/Jerrica, Kimber, Aja, and Shana are just that, girls. There is no way I would believe that these young ladies would own a recording studio as well as an orphanage. Jerrica, her sister and their friends were in their mid to later 20s maybe even edging on 30 in the cartoon. They were very strong figures that you could see taking care of a house full of girls and running a business that was constantly under attack by Eric and The Misfits. But the young ladies cast for the roles just don't fit that image. Ok, I know this is a retelling of the story, if I am reading things I find online right, so perhaps they are the perfect age for the story that is being told, but then it's no longer Jem and The Holograms for me. Perhaps this is before Jerrica and Kimber's parents die, but I don't think it is. It just throws off what I know and love about the show and makes me sad for what this movie will actually be.

And speaking of the girls, I am so angry that the one cast to play Shana is not a female with a darker skin
tone. The one picked is biracial and looks lighter than the young lady playing Aja. This really upsets me. What is so wrong with casting a girl with the right color complexion. You cannot tell me that they couldn't find the right young lady to fill the spot. As the articles out there read, this cast is made up of mostly unknown actresses who've only really been on tv. So picking a girl from obscurity to play Shana would not have mattered one bit. My sister says "That's Hollywood for you", and while I know that is true, it still really bothers me. I think the casting crew should be ashamed of themselves for not choosing a female with a darker skin tone. This just honestly makes me dislike the idea of the movie more and more. Also, in the video announcing the movie, the director says he wants fans involved in all aspects of the movie and that included acting in the movie. I know for a fact many girls who fit Shana's characteristics would have fit in the role perfectly. Watch this video to see an audition for the movie, you'll see what I mean.

See, she fit Shana's characteristics so much better. Nothing against the girl who was picked, it's just she doesn't fit the role right. But come on, all the girls in the above video fit the bill a little bit closer. I mean Kimber has red hair, not orange. And if we go back to, it's a retelling of the story, then Jerrica should have the red hair, Kimber should be the older sister, and Aja should be British instead of Asian. It wouldn't be the same story then, right? Exactly. Just the slightest change makes it not true to the story. Also, where is Raya? This is why I feel this is before Jerrica and Kimber's parents die, because it makes no sense to leave Raya out of movie. And although we don't know who will be The Misfits yet, I'm assuming there is no Jetta either. Which has me thinking, if the time period is before the death of the parents, will The Misfits even be in the movie? Doesn't Jerrica meet The Misfits after getting into it with Eric and severing ties with him causing him to find a new place to work? Ahhhh!!! I'm telling you, they are going to mess this story up!!! *deep breath*

Ok, after some research I've found that it seems there will be no Misfits, no magical earrings, and no Synergy. Ok, without those earrings and Synergy there are no Holograms. Omg, please don't tell me it's going to be like a Siri thing. Pretty please with sugar on top, don't let it be that awful. From what I've read, it seems the girls will be internet singing sensations and that's how they get their start. *sad sigh* Really? That's the best they can do? Oh and they are writing all new songs, which will no doubt be along the lines of Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, and every other pop act out there. *sad sigh again*

Also, it seems that this big thing about casting fans and having fans involved was just a way for creators to get some free viral marketing by having people hashtag all their movies and entries about the movie in social media with their hashtag #jemthemovie. Then they only give some people bit parts and that's about it from the fans. I mean they didn't even get the original creator and anyone from the original show involved. They are truly going for their own vision of the show and from reading various posts, the fans, younger and older, are so not happy, and a lot of them have created a new hashtage they are passing around called #boycottjemthemovie. Another hashtag that is going around now too is #WeWantChristy in a bid to get Christy Marx on the movie team. I mean let's face it, most of the crew seems like they were born after the show went off the air, so they don't know what an icon Jem was for the time. They don't have that relation to her, so messing up the story will be super easy for them. The fans are aware of this, and they are making themselves be heard.

Also, I hate sounding like I am yet another voice in the already loud crowd of those angry over how women
are depicted in media and the lack of people of color in media, because I try to be neutral, but I just couldn't keep my mouth closed with this. Not over something I loved so much as a child and related to so much. It made me believe I could be accepted as I am and if people didn't like it, oh well. Children need that, especially now with so many people not caring who the hell they offend. I think the original Jem was a step in the right direction of showing people as being equal and being judged not based on their color and looks but on their personality and character. But if we have characters not cast properly, what kind of message does that send to kids and adults alike. It'll just get a shrug and be accepted as "That's Hollywood for you". If they can mess with the ages and races of the characters, what else will they change? I'm honestly worried those girls will be wearing a few pieces of tissue and some dental floss for clothing with it being mostly a man crew. Nothing against you men out there, because there are lots of movies out there directed by men that show they got in touch with their gentle side. But come on, like I said, these guys "blow shit up" for a living. So umm, yeah, that's all I will say about that.

And on that note I will bring this lovely novel of a post to a close. I think I mostly got it all off my chest. If you are interested in keeping tabs on what's going on with the movie, you can check out their Tumblr here, and there is also a blog that I believe a fan is running here. It has some added info I couldn't find elsewhere, but I am not 100% sure if their info is right. Seems legit, but read at your own disclosure. And I will talk to you lovely people later. Until next time. Take care. Bye for now. :-)

Mattel Sales Are Down

So while surfing the web, way past my bedtime, I came across an article about how Mattel suffered a 5% drop in sales, 14% of that was on Barbie alone. Mattel lost 11 million dollars in their first quarter this year. This also comes after a really bad holiday season where most of their inventory was put on discount to try to sell it off.

So during the whole MGA/Mattel, or Bratz vrs. Barbie debacle, I admit, I wanted to see Mattel go down, or at least be knocked off their pedestal. I felt it was unfair of them to get away over something so petty and something I feel they had no right to. I felt they were afraid of competition and wanted a monopoly on fashion dolls. But now to see they are suffering, even with their popular Monster High and Ever After High doll lines, it is quite sad. I loved Barbie as a kid and while I think competition is good, it would be sad to see this company continue to fail. Now I know they could come up with the next "big thing" and be in the black again, and I know a lot of companies are suffering, it just surprised me to see they are suffering. However, with my experience in retail, the first few months of the year are always slow and then things pick up. Usually the first quarter is hard for everyone, from my retail experience. So things should start looking up for Mattel, especially since the acquired Mega Brands which makes Lego's rival Mega Bloks, and they have launched a toy gun line called BOOMco. So things may start to look up for them this year.

I guess I found this all interesting because I really do have a passion for getting into the toy business, and I wonder how much a struggle it would be. Clearly there is way more competition out there, and you need to have the "it product" and keep up on trends, and it's really any company's chance to be the big dog in the industry. I just wonder if my dreams are too big and will set me up for a major burn in the end, or am I just letting self-doubt tap on my shoulder? I don't know why I am even bothered by any of this now. It's a ways off for now, but researching toy companies isn't a bad step to see how the industry is looking. I need to try to find some stats on other toy companies. If Mattel slipped in sales, does that mean someone took top dog position? Or has everyone slipped in sales but Mattel still reigns supreme? Guess that's something new to google...after a few hours of sleep that is.

But yeah, I just wanted to post about this since it is kind of doll related. Not sure who may have found this interesting, but I just figured if the company that is the main supplier of a lot of our dolls is suffering, what does that mean for collectors down the line? Will they have to cut costs more? Will we get cheaper quality dolls? Will lines be cut? Is Barbie in trouble of becoming a thing of the past? Inquiring minds want to know. And on that note I am off guys. I will talk to you again soon. Until then, take care. Bye for now.

Organizing My Life and Happy Easter

So I have decided that in order to get to where I want to be in life I need to organize my life, real and virtual. So I am doing both at the same time. Spring cleaning in my home and cleaning up my computer and the places I visit online. So I decided I first wanted to clean up my Pinterest so I can start using it more. Sure, it's a time-waster, but it gives you access to such great ideas, and since I want to become more crafty in life, it's where I need to be. But I have noticed my boards were made specifically for me and not really with any organization in mind. I joined Pinterest in it's wee early days and like many, I just posted stuff anywhere, I've double pins in boards, and it's just not organized, so I want to do that so I can reference it better for doll crafts and crafts in general, along with other things I pin there.

Along with Pinterest I want to organize my bookmarks. I have tons and no of them I visit because they are not organized. I have decided that I can't read ALL THE BLOGS so I need to find the few I cherish, make a blogroll, and stick to that unless I find a blog I really, really, REALLLLLLLLY like. I'll be updating the blog with pages for my blogroll so you guys and see the awesome people I read and maybe find some new blogs to read.

Speaking of blogs, I am opening up my old blogs again. I just stopped everything when I was with "he who shall not be named", and well he made me feel so foolish about so many things I loved in life, that I just let them all go. So it's so hard to get back into them because I feel foolish about them still. But blogging made me happy. Interacting made me happy, and I hope I can reconnect with you all again very soon and make blogging a daily event in my life and vlogging as well. I may have mentioned it, I have a silly tutorial video I want to upload and share with you as a start to my tutorial and vlogging for dolls and crafts.

I have big plans. I've had big plans and I just wouldn't allow myself to see them through. Now I want to so badly. And I am making slow strides to make it happen. Once I finish my organizing and cleaning I will be able to move on to FINALLY opening the shop, starting my Youtube channels properly, and blogging hopefully every day. I just need to be organized first so I can respond back to people, which by the way, I want to thank everyone who has commented on my blog. In my depression I shied away from my blog, interacting, and responding, and for that I am so sorry. I have responded to all the comments from 2014, but to go and further back would take forever and I doubt it would be relevant to you any more. So please accept this collective THANK YOU and I hope you will continue to comment. It's ok if you want to wait first to see if I keep my word about blogging, that's understandable, just know that your comments have been read and they mean a lot to me and thank you so much for them.

So yeah. That is where I am now. It's a bit overwhelming as I try to find my way back into this. I used to know what I wanted from the hobby, and now I am a bit scattered-brained. I would like my doll hobby to become a career in some sort. I have dreams of becoming a doll designer, or a toy designer in general. I just know my heart is in toys, dolls, collectables, and making kids of all ages smile with their new toys and dolls. So that's my lifetime goal I guess. For now it all starts with properly rejoining the community I have loved for years. I hope all of you are having a wonder Easter, if you don't celebrate Easter I hope you are having a lovely Sunday, and I will be back with a new update very, very, VERY soon. :-) Until next time guys. Take care. Bye for now. :-)

A Quick Box Opening

Hey guys, I have a few old reviews/box openings that I wanted to do, and just never got around to it. So I figured I’d get started with them so I can empty my computer of the pictures so I can take more pictures. Logical, right? Winking smile

So, ever since my sister got a Resinsoul Bei, I’ve wanted one to make into a mini cyber-goth. However, I’m wondering if she is just a bit to small to do that. I want to go into full detail with her, but in 1/6th scale it may just be to small. I’m going to try it though and see how it turns out.

Merry Christmas To Me!!!

So I ordered my girl, whom I’ve named Leia, during Junkyspot’s 2013 Black Friday event. I got her on the last day when everything on the site was, I believe, 20% off. Good price, so I snatched her up, and I was able to get her in tan.  Red heart

Stuffs!!!

I think it’s so sweet how there are always extra little goodies included in your package from Junkyspot. When I finally open my shop I am so going to take a leaf out of their book and pop some goodies in all the packages I send out. Everyone loves a little something extra in their package.

Plastic Bag Mummy?

What??? No bubble wrap? Where is my mummy?!? Well I guess a plastic mummy will have to do. I love how she looks purple. I took the pictures as a rainstorm was coming in and it was starting to get dark outside.

Yep, Purple.

So purple. LOL! I am kind of bummed that they don’t come in baggies any more. They come with this big pillow now. I guess for when they are in their boxes or bags? *sigh* Oh well. I guess I should take her out more and then I won’t have to worry about where I store her. Just don’t know where to store her because sun peeks into my house at all angles even with the blinds closed. *sigh* I lead such a hard life. Winking smile

Much Better.

I decided to use the flash on my camera and it actually caught her in her right color. Maybe a little tiny bit washed out, but she’s so beautiful. I am not sure what direction I am going to go with her. I bought different eyes for her, not a fan of her default eyes. In the picture above with her wrapped in her pillows and surrounded by goodies, you can see a zip-lock baggie and that holds a wig cap for her and her new eyes. I got her some green eyes, but I am not sure if I will keep them. I may have to get her new eyes. I keep buying so much stuff for my dolls that don’t work out, but I just can’t get rid of them, always thinking I will eventually have a doll that can use them. LOL! But can’t wait to share her transformation here.

So my initial thoughts on her? I love her. She’s super cute, and has adorable elf ears. I am slightly bugged by how her mouth is done because one side kind of hitches up where they other side doesn’t. So not a fan of that, but I will get used to it. Also, her stringing is horrendous. I want to try to find some stronger elastic and restring her, along with Mori…I changed Midori’s name, and along with Christmas Noel. Their stringing is just too loose, and when I pull up on the strings they become kicky. I want to make them a little more fun to pose and play with. I know, first world doll owner problems.

I need to make a master to-do list and post it here on my blog, and that way I can knock them off here as I do them all. Super excited to jump back into dolls, toys, crafting, and more. I am going to also tinker with the blog some to make it a little more fun as well and perhaps get it ready to become my focus point. I’ve got plans and hope to reach most of them this year. Fingers crossed

Ok, and that’s all for now guys. I hope all of you are doing well, and another review/box opening is coming soon. Take care until next time.  Bye for now lovelies.

Spring: A Lovely Rebirth

Today was a simply stunning day. Blue skies with just a few wispy clouds floating by, the trees are blooming, the air smells amazing, and everyone is out and about. I have been lurking everywhere online and in life, licking wounds and dealing with my health, but now Spring has sprung, it's time to shake off the dust, figuratively and literally, and start living life again. So I have decided to start with some Spring cleaning. So much dust, so much clutter, I am so ready to purge things and get rid of tons of junk I really just don't need.

I have a blog post in my drafts that I need to post. It explains a lot about what I've been doing this past few months, as well as what I plan to do this year and in my future. I just need to work on it a little more before I post it. For now I just wanted to post a quick post to say hi and that I'm still here. I have plans for this blog and I hope to start working on them soon. Yeah, I do tend to hangout on Tumblr every day, but it's just not the same as my blog here. I think I can get things out more here and be more centered here. So expect to hear more from me and my "plastic crew" soon. Until then, I hope you are all enjoying Spring and the warming weather. Take care peeps. Bye for now. :-)

I Need Something

So I didn't do that big return I was hoping for, mainly due to the fact that I have been licking my wounds in private due to my breakup. No, it didn't end well, and just a few minutes ago I found out the hard way I am still very much angry over the whole deal. So I've decided to really throw myself hard back into my doll and craft hobbies. I always wanted to open a shop and plan to do so this year around Spring. I want to make some more inventory, get a PO box, work on my shop logo, etc., etc. I also plan on starting two of my three Youtube channels soon also. I just need to focus on other things rather than what I have been.

Puchi Collective Empire Dress
So the business I want to start is a clothing, accessories, and some props kind of shop. A main focus on clothing and accessories. The only problem I am having is which doll to sew for. I don't really want to be exclusive. I want to try being able to sew different items for different kinds of dolls. Right now I am working on Blythe Empire dresses and I want to try to make them for Monster High as well. I need to alter the pattern some so it will fit Monster High snugly. The Blythe size is ok, but it's not really fitted or tailored for Monster High.

I adore Blythe and how small and cute they are with their bobble heads, and I think that's why I equally love Monster High dolls as well. So I decided choosing those two to sew for right now was fitting. I think this will help me relax some and move on. I want to try getting a Takara Blythe this year. I have an ADG Blythe and a Blybe doll, but I really want a Takara one. I also still hope to happen upon a Hasboro Blythe, or even if it's just a head of one I can get a body for cheap so no worries there. But that would be a grail doll for sure. I just really adore the sweetness of Blythe and want to expand my collection of them. And since I will be getting rid of a lot of dolls later this year after I post my photostory, which has to be changed greatly because one of the characters was based on someone I no longer want in the story, I won't have any need for most of the dolls I have and will probably sell them as lots on Ebay or maybe as a category in my online shop. Oh, I also need to show you all the new dolls I've gotten lately. I haven't done much with them, but that will change this year as well.

So those are my plans for now. I want to take pictures of the dresses I sewed a couple of years ago and compare them to the ones I will make now. Hopefully my new ones won't make the old ones look amazing. :-) And on that note I want to wish everyone a belated Happy New Year and I hope all of you have been having a great year so far. I need to catch up with everyone so badly, just need to get out of this funk, but I will be back in top form soon. This year is going to be awesome. I just know it. Bye for now lovelies.

I Can't Wait For Midnight January 1st 2014

Image From Free Digital Photos
Happy holidays ladies and gents, it has been a while. I have just been dealing with life. I almost said living life, but that's not the honest truth. Dealing with it is a much better way to explain things. I ended the year roughly 175 pounds less in the form of an ex-boyfriend that I am now very glad I am done with. I've had some time to think about what all has happened in the past couple of days, weeks, months, years, and I realize I did the right thing in letting him go. But that leaves me at a confusing crossroads as to what I want to do with my life and how I see the hobbies he judged me for. It took me some time, but I've decided to say "Forget him", and return to things I love, dolls being the main thing I want to return to.

So now that I've decided to return to dolls, what will I be doing? I've been brainstorming some plans, and I will be starting on them in January. I don't really want to say what they are now, so if they blow up in my face and I fail miserably, I'll be the only one to know and can just move on to plan B instead of embarrassingly admitting defeat publicly. LOL! The one thing I can tell you I am working on now is sewing. I really do want to start selling clothes for dolls this coming year. I love fashion and I have so many ideas for doll clothes.

I've collected some dolls to sew for and I plan to collect more, and I'm excited to try this venture. It's just I'm also nervous about it. What if no one likes my stuff? What if running a business is too hard? What if...well I don't know, what if something else goes wrong? But life is full of risks and I need to take more. I saw I took a big one trusting my heart to one of the nastiest people I have ever met, I literally though I would die from the pain he caused me, but I'm bouncing back and I made it through the worst. A business mishap or two, I think I can handle after what I went through with him. So I am putting on my big girl panties finally and charging forward towards this new venture. So super nervous. :-)

I've got so many things swimming around in my brain that I want to complete next year, I almost don't know where to start. I have given myself until New Year's Day to deal with the aftermath of my "175 pounds weight loss" and then I told myself it's time to stop mourning and move on. So yeah, there's one plan at least, the rest, I need to schedule out I think. I am a list person, so I need to make lists. Don't be surprised if some lists pop up here every now and again, I do well thinking out loud. ;-)

Wow, I've missed blogging so much but I feel like I've lost my blogging mojo. I know I will get it back over time, I just feel kind of odd now. I almost feel like I'm in a strange place. Time will change that. I will be back to regular blogging again in 2014. I want to say I'll blog everyday, and I guess technically I could, but I think it'd be pretty boring. I don't know. We'll see. I won't hold myself to it, if I do blog every day great, if I don't, no big. And this looks like a great place to close for now. I don't know if I will be back before the new year, so in case I don't get back I want to wish all my readers a very safe and happy New Year. Have fun, be merry, and get ready for 2014, it's going to be awesome. :-) Bye for now all.

Happy Autumn/Fall!!!

Happy Season Change Day everyone! Did I just invent a holiday there? Awesome! But seriously, I am excited!!! I LOVE Autumn. The colors, the weather, the scents, the holidays, the everything. Only problem I have with the season is weather to call it Autumn or Fall.

Now according to Grammarist and Daily Writing Tips, both words formed in Britain around the same time, with I believe Fall being a slight bit older. It seems the season started off being called Harvest due to the time being where farms and growing your own food were a big deal. As cities began to become more of a big deal they needed a word that represented the season for everyone. So Fall, that hinted at fall of the leaf, was formed. It seems a short bit later Autumn was born. So what happened after that? Well the two words were used interchangeably for a while until the settlers left Britain for America, and along with them they brought Fall. Now folks back in the Britain feel the word Fall is archaic and poetic and folks in America feel Autumn is archaic and poetic. And while both words co-exist happily in most English speaking areas, one word tends to be more favored over the other. So I guess it just falls, hehehe no pun intended, down to the individual person. I prefer Autumn myself. It just screams colorful leaves, a nip in the air, warmer clothes, and pumpkin pie. Which one do you prefer? Tell me in the comments section, I'd love to know. And if you'd like, share where you are from to see if we can fine preference pattern. I'm from the U.S. where they tend to prefer Fall, but I'm an Autumn girl. :-)

But no matter what you prefer to call the season, it is officially here!!! Well, at least in the Northern Hemisphere. Sorry to all of you Autumn loving Southern Hemisphere folks, but hey, Happy Spring to you all!!! Spring is my second favorite season with all it's pastel colors, beautiful floral scents, and a nice change from Winter's harsh nip and colorless scenes. However Winter is my third favorite, so don't feel I'm giving it total hate. ;-) But do tell me, am I alone in this love of Autumn? Is anyone else out there excited over the potential this lovely season has to offer? You know, I love this season so much I can only find one thing wrong with it. I can't stand that fact that is has to end. :-( Oh well, I've got 3 months of awesomeness to enjoy, so I'd better make the most of it. :-D Let's the waiting for the first leaf to change color and fall countdown begin!!! ;-)

Seriously?! You can stop already!!!

Who needs good luck anyway?
Why?! Why do I ALWAYS have to be there when bad things happen?! So we've been getting work done on the house, and it just seems one bad thing after another is happening. This all started with a leaking faucet. If I would have just gotten my rear in gear so we could have a plumber come in, I don't think most of this would have happened.

So like I said, it started with one leaking faucet in the kitchen. We had to turn the hot water off at the tap and turn it on when needed. That went on for a while as we tried to sort issues over getting a plumber in. Well one leaking faucet turned into two once the cold water went bad too. So we were going to get a plumber in, except instead of that we ended up with a few remodels in the kitchen and upstairs bathrooms. The bathrooms went in, and the downstairs ended up flooded. The new kitchen counters went in and then the sink gets fixed, and its leaking. Before it gets put in though, when I reached under the sink a few days ago to turn the tap off, the pipe from the sink drain pops off. *eye roll* It was an easy fix, but it's nice to have the sink back together and I don't have to reach under it to turn it on, even though it still leaks. *another eye roll*  That plumber that put our new stuff in has been nothing but trouble for us.

Well the last straw was just now. I needed water. I wanted cold water from the Brita in the fridge. I go get the water, take a drink, and it's kind of warmish. I think it's just been filled so I grab the other one that's almost empty and get some water. I take a sip. Warmish again. I start grabbing things and feeling them. Hummm...they seem warmish. I call for a second opinion and that is where it is brought to my attention the cooling lights are off. Are you kidding me?!? Middle of the freaking night and our fridge died on us!!! And I, again, have to be the bearer of bad news. I get nervous when that happens because someone in this house tends to go from calm to spastic in .01 seconds. But I was surprised, it was a more of a "shit happens" kind of reaction with a small laugh. I was tempted to ask if they were ok, but decided not to tempt the Gods and get my tail out of there. Not sure what will be done now, guess we'll be getting a new one tomorrow.

It's just funny. One leaking faucet turned from a several hundred dollar plumber's visit into a several thousand dollar remodel and new appliance purchase. It's funny how life is funny like that. But I think I will keep to my room more for the next couple of days. It seems like every day I step into that kitchen something new breaks. Oddly enough, I don't think anything happened on Friday the 13th. Guess that was my day off. *sigh* Ok, just needed a quick "in disbelief" vent and rant. Thanks if you read this far. :-) I will be back to regular blogging here soon. I recently got a gift and it's going to help me with my blogging big time. More on that soon. Until then, be good. Bye for now. :-)

Getting Ready For Autumn

Image From Free Digital Photos
Who's ready for Autumn to start? This girl is! I can't wait to feel that nip in the air and see the leaves start to change colors. It has been such a mild Summer this year in NC, which is so surprising. One of my friends said he'd read that we are suppose to have a harsh Winter this year, so Autumn is looking like it will show up early this year. *happy dance* I am so looking forward to it.

So to get into the festive harvest mood, I decided to change the blog layout some. Subtle but fun. I am sure I will be tweaking it some over the next few days, but I am happy so far with it. So yeah, I'm a little early, but I can't help, I am just already in the mood. I'm hoping I've gotten you in the mood too. LOL! Bring on the cold!!! Ok, I will talk to you awesome people later. Bye for now. :-)

Depression, Cleaning, Saints, And Blah

Every day I think about blogging, and every day I tell myself to put it off just a little longer so I can come back fully with stuff to share and talk about. But I just honestly don’t have that yet. I’ve been in the process of cleaning my room and the room I craft in, and not just cleaning but organizing and purging stuff as well. Well with my bum stomach, something that used to take me no time at all to do can take me hours to days to do now. It sucks, but I am dealing with it. I love that I am finally getting more organized, but the rooms are slowly turning into a Hoarders episode the “cleaner” it gets. I have a vision and a drive to get this done, it’s just overwhelming to see everything in the middle of the room and know I have to go through it all still. Ack! Oh well, it will be worth it in the end.

Add on to this that for some crazy reason I am seriously depressed, and have been for the past year, but it’s really getting nasty as of late. I really feel it has something to do with my thyroid medicine. I either have too much or not enough. My hormones are so out of whack I don’t know who I will be from moment to moment. I’m either perfectly fine or curled up in a ball throwing the most awesome pity party this side of the Atlantic. Woo! I see my doctor, maybe, on September 11th, where I am bound to get a lovely round of blood tests to see what’s going on with me. I feel my dosage will change again, but we will see.

Now if all that wasn’t enough to deal with then I have the “blah” portion of stuff I am dealing with. My house is getting work done on the kitchen and bathrooms so there are stranger guys in and out of the house making the loudest noises. Then they take a few days or week break while orders for stuff come in and then they start it all over again. We are currently on a “break”, but they will be back soon, I’m sure of it. For some reason whenever I leave my room they all like to just stare at me, which is just lovely for a shy gal like me who would just like to cross the hall to the other room without it becoming a moment of interest. Well hey, there’s one good thing at least. The guys are kind of cute, so I guess dealing with them for the time being isn’t all that bad. LOL!

My family members all have been dealing with health issues of late, and that stresses me out, and of course my doctor told me not to worry about them and worry about myself instead. Kind of hard to do when it’s right in front of my face all the time. So this is another reason I am really trying to get back to where I can craft and be creative. It helps calm me and pull me out of reality for a while. But I don’t have the ability right now because of the need to clean, so I have found another way to achieve that moment of peace. Video games. Open-mouthed smile

I just got a new game in the mail today, Saints Row 4, and it really helps me let off some steam. I am also playing Guild Wars 2 again, the Sims 3, and Animal Crossing. It’s just a nice break from the daily stress until I can get back to my true love, crafting. It’s hard to have so much I want to do and try craft-wise and not be able to do it. That adds more frustration on me as well, so for now I take it out on aliens and unsuspecting Sims. Mean? Yep. Fun? Hehehehe.

So I was dealing with all this and thought I had things at a comfortable “I can deal with it.” level, and then another wrench is thrown into the gears. “A” just recently told me he’s been experiencing heart issues for the past few months. It sounds a lot like my mom’s heart issues and to know he may have that at such a young age scares me. He’s going through testing now, and I hope it’s just stress and that he needs to take a vacation to relax, but if it is what my mom has it’s permanent, and that just truly scares me. So all of this just makes me feel like I am carrying the hugest boulder on my shoulders. I never really truly understood that saying until recently. Your shoulders truly feel heavy, and you almost feel like you are in pain because of it. It sucks so much, you have no idea. Well, perhaps you do. I know a lot of you are dealing with nasty stuff in your neck of the woods, and if you are, I am sorry. I wish we could all just have fun enjoying our hobbies and living a happy life, but that is just not how it goes sadly. So with that all said, what’s next?

I’m not sure. I am going to keep at the cleaning, and purging things for the shop I am going to open with my mom, that’s not doll related. We are going to try selling new and used things on Amazon. I will still open my doll shop too very soon. I am still tinkering with articles and plan to use them for promoting my shops and blogs. I hope to promote some of my favorite blogs too, not that any of you need that because all your blogs are awesomely popular already. Smile And well, until I can comfortably get back into my craft area, I will continue to kill aliens and torture Sims. LOL! But once I am back in a my crafty nook I will be sewing, crocheting, creating, oh and finally finishing my photostory I started writing years ago so I can move on to the story I really want to start working on. And well, I guess that’s it, for now. If you have read this far, thank you. I feel I owe you something for reading through all that. Hummm, what can I give you. Oh I know!

Kitties!!! What? Who doesn’t love kitties? Well, maybe someone allergic to them or someone who get attacked by a kitty, but other than that, who doesn’t love kittles? Oh fine then. For those of you who don’t like kitties, this is for you.

Puppies!!! You’re welcome. Winking smile And on that note I am off again my lovelies. I’ll be back soon, hopefully with awesome news and fun things to share. I hope all of you are doing well and having tons of dollie fun. Take care until next time. Bye for now. Smile
