So when I first heard about Gooliope, I knew I had to have her. I love large fashion dolls, and she was just too awesome not to have. I knew I would have issues clothing her, but I felt that was a bridge I'd cross after I got her. Once I had her, I went to the Monster High Arena forums to see what other Goo owners were dressing her up in. It's there I learned that she could fit Barbie clothes, at least the tops, because her upper part was based on Barbie. Awesome!!!
There was one dress that came to mind when I
thought of Goo, the freaking yellow bunny dress. I don't know why, but that dress was the perfect dress for her in my eyes. I tried to hold off on getting it, and even decided I didn't want it because the pattern didn't travel all the way around the back of the piece. However, I kept returning to thoughts of the dress whenever I looked at Goo, but I didn't want to pay some of the prices I was finding it for online, so I gave up on the idea and told myself I would just design some cute bunny fabric that looked similar and sew her a dress out of that. And I thought the need for the dress was over with. Nope, I was so wrong.
With the release of the other girls, and seeing owner pictures of them in cute Barbie clothes, I decided to just look and see what the price of the dress was again. I found one at awesome price and put it in the shopping cart, but then something else caught my eye. I found a deal where I could get the dress I wanted with another cute pink dress, and just for 2 dollars extra. What?!?!? Well, as I'm sure you already know, I was sold. Those babies went right into my shopping cart. When I got them, they looked so tiny, and I wondered if I could get them on Goo, but I was able to with patience and being gentle easing it on. The bunny one goes on a lot easier than the pink one. The pink one will be used for actual Barbie dolls, but the bunny one is Goo's.
I don't know why I felt she needed a bright yellow dress with
bunnies on it. I guess because I felt it would fit the yellow bits in her hair. The dress is stretchy so it fits her nicely. I never planned on it being a dress for her, but more of a long top. I want to make her pants to go under it. I think I will be looking for more Barbie stuff to see what would fit her nicely as a top. The lower parts won't fit, sadly, but uppers are fine. Which makes me sad, because I order some more clothes from that seller that has outfits I wanted for Goo as well, and it has awesome bottoms to it. I knew the jeans and shorts wouldn't fit, but I was hopeful for the skirt because some people have said some Barbie bottoms work. I guess I will find out today if they work. If not, it won't be a waste, I have other dolls it can fit. I'll post about that as soon as I get them.
And that's all for this post. I just wanted to show you guys and gals that the 17 inch dolls do have options. I wonder if the 28 inch dolls have options out there. I really want to get those girls. They look like so much fun. For now I will deal with my 5 ghouls, one I am still debating on if I should take her out of her box and customize or not. I'll introduce my other ghouls to you later. A lot of people were saying they preferred one over the other, and I didn't think I'd be one of them, but I found myself surprised to be saying the same thing as all of them. Can't wait to show you. It happened when I saw Iris Clops pop up in my suggestions today. I have wanted Iris since I heard about her, but even more so when I learned about her "I Love Fashion" doll. It first started with a random picture that lead to an auction that was taken down quickly. They showed her off in all her glory. I was hooked, but the rumor was, it was fake. *sigh* So I let that dream go. However, as time went by, more and more sightings started coming out and then doll Youtubers started talking about her and sharing her and then Mattel let us know, it wasn't a fake and she could be ours very soon. Flash forward to today, I find out she's a Toys R Us exclusive and we'd have to hit the aisles to try to get her. Something tells me she's rare, and hard to find. I'm not willing to pay scalper prices or fight for her, so the dream sadly ends here. I'm still hopefully I can get her on Amazon for a decent price, sometimes I get lucky like that. We'll see. Fingers crossed. And hey, it is my birthday next month, and people are already asking me what I want. :-D
From there, though, things just got worse. The next thing that
caught my eye was Wydowna Spider and her "I Love Fashion" doll. I actually wanted this doll before I knew about the one for Iris. Wydowna is just such an interesting doll, being a spider and all, and I am so not a fan of spiders, but she's a cutie. Her clothes are cool, she gets a good amount of them along with shoes, and I love the way she looks. The only thing keeping me from getting her is that loud blue lipstick on her. Sure, I could repaint them, but I just don't think I could do her justice, and it would bother me to change the doll. But I do so love her, especially her widow's peak.
Next on the list is Monster High Ghoul Fair Scarah Screams. I love Scarah Screams. For some reason she reminds me on Winona Ryder from around the Beetlejuice days. She's Lydia Deetz and she's of sound mind. You ask her, she's answering, yes she loves that man of hers. LOL! I think that's why she appeals to me so much. Her white eyes, dark hair, pale skin, a perfect emo goth in the making, or just a misunderstood ghoul, take your pick. I have two of this lovely lady, her "I Love Fashion" doll and her "Freaky Fusion" doll. The "Freaky Fusion" doll, I have plans to customize her. I don't know if I am keeping her. I am really happy with the first Scarah I have, so I can easily pass on others. That is why I am passing on the fair one. She's cute, I love the yellow in her hair, and the outfit is super cute, but I think I will hold off. If I find a good deal on her, during Black Friday or something, then I will get her.
just want Valentine, he's a hottie. Whisp is pretty and all, but I don't really have any feeling for her. Sorry Whisp lovers out there, she's just not my bag baby. But Valentine, he's so suave and awesome looking. He reminds me of a character I want to put into my doll comic one day, though he's a bad guy, not sure if Valentine is a bad guy or not. I'll have to find out. But alas, I'll have to hope they make another doll of him for cheaper. He's a bit pricey for me with his lovely lady in their exclusive set. Fingers crossed that our paths will cross again. *dreamy sigh*
The next dolls are along the same theme, I only want the boy. The Monster High Boo York, Boo York Comet-Crossed Couple Cleo de Nile and Deuce Gorgon doll pack. I only want Deuce in the set. I don't know, I've
never been big on Cleo. In fact, I only have one Cleo and that was so I
could steal her hands for my Howleen Wolf doll. Cleo will be customized. I
don't know why I don't like her that much, the character is funny
enough, but I just don't like the doll too much. But I have always
wanted a Deuce, and this one is just so handsomely cool looking. Perhaps
I'll get the set, keep him, and pass her on. Or perhaps I'll just wait
for another doll of him that appeals to me like this one does. Only time
will tell. Now, pardon me as I do some quick Deuce picspam just to show you how handsome this beautiful boy is.
The next doll(s) are the Monster High Great Scarrier Reef Peri and Pearl dolls. When I saw these ladies, I couldn't help but think that Mattel was taking notes from customizers on making a two-headed doll. This doll is so awesome and I loved the idea of a two-headed doll. I really want to know the story of these two girls. I so need to get back into watching the Monster High shorts and movies. Now the only down side to these girls is the fact that they are a water monster with a tail. There isn't much to work with with a doll that has a tail. They'd mostly be for display and as my collecting habits have changed, I don't collect dolls that will merely sit around to be on display. So sadly I'll have to just look at owners pictures of these lovelies when they come out. :-(
Now this next doll I MUST have. She's just so
freaking adorable. The Monster High Monster Exchange Program Isi doll. Seriously? So awesome! Look at the ears, the horns, the face-up, the clothes!!! She's so freaking awesome!!! The only reason I won't get this girl is if I can't afford her when she is released or she's hard to get. Fingers crossed tight I can make this girl mine.
This next girl, the Monster High Monster Exchange Program Kjersti doll, isn't necessarily a "must-have" girl, but she sure is a "must-see" girl. There's sadly only a blurry photo (image found here on maplesyrup44's instagrram) and cartoon pictures on the sales page for her, but she looks adorable and she's on the little sister body. She may possibly be a "must-have" after I see her. Even through the blurr, she just looks so cute.
The next two are Ever After High dolls. The first one
I am in love with is Ever After High Melody Piper. She looks so funky and reminds me of the skaters from the Jet Set Radio game, look down below at the video to learn more about the game. She looks like she's ready to grab Porter Geiss's spray paints and some skates and go for it! I am not big into Ever After High dolls, but this girl is awesomeeee!!! Humm, how many times am I going to use that word in this post. Anyone keeping count? That would be awesome. :-D And can I say, I am loving that Mattle is doing more body art on dolls. I always felt that parents being against it was silly. Her leg art looks amazinggggg!
The next doll is another 2015 SDCC Exclusive, the Mattel Ever After High Raven Queen doll. This doll looks so deliciously evil in her outfit. She looks like she is ready to take you down with a powerful spell. From what I remember, she doesn't want to be evil, but she is seriously giving it to me in this doll. Very nice. But again, I'll have to enjoy the owner pictures of her because yeah, so not going to try affording her. Sooo out of my price range, but she is still so...awesome. :-) Count anyone?
Ok, last one. This one doesn't seem to have an
Amazon sale page, but I saw him on the Monster High Arena (image found here). It's Finnegan Wake. Yes, he's a water monster, but he's in a wheelchair. Meaning he's mobile and in style! Ahhhhh!!! I want this guy so much. He looks so rad and is ready to hang ten with the best of them. I am not sure if he is coming out later this year or early next year. I may or may not get him. He's just so interesting and I can't wait to see real life pictures of him. Come home to me Finnegan! Come home to me!!!
And that brings my list to an end. I know, sad faces all around, but I just had to share with you all my wishful thinking list. I know if I get anyone off this list, it'll probably be about 2 or 3 of them. Which isn't bad by any means at all. And of course if I get any, you guys will be the first to know. :-)
So the Amazon sale was a bust today. There was a deluxe set of Ever After High dolls and a Boo York, Boo York doll and playset, and both were just a few bucks off, so I didn't get any dolls. There was one thing being offered a few dollars cheaper, a K'nex set with 750 pieces. I've always been curious about this toy and wanted to try making some videos with someone building things, but dangit all, by the time my computer acknowledged my click, they were gone. Like literally in one minute all were snatched up and waiting list was full. Another minute later and they were all bought. *pouty face* Oh well, there will probably be a good sale around the holidays, so I can wait and try to get it again. So yes, I left a sale with my money firmly in my pocket. Oh well, I got the new Sims 4 game pack yesterday, so that makes me feel better. I also plan to get some patterns this week or weekend, fingers crossed. If not, they will go on sale again in two weeks, so I can wait. Amazon, you let me down. *sigh* LOL!

So I didn't do that big return I was hoping for, mainly due to the fact that I have been licking my wounds in private due to my breakup. No, it didn't end well, and just a few minutes ago I found out the hard way I am still very much angry over the whole deal. So I've decided to really throw myself hard back into my doll and craft hobbies. I always wanted to open a shop and plan to do so this year around Spring. I want to make some more inventory, get a PO box, work on my shop logo, etc., etc. I also plan on starting two of my three Youtube channels soon also. I just need to focus on other things rather than what I have been.
So the business I want to start is a clothing, accessories, and some props kind of shop. A main focus on clothing and accessories. The only problem I am having is which doll to sew for. I don't really want to be exclusive. I want to try being able to sew different items for different kinds of dolls. Right now I am working on Blythe Empire dresses and I want to try to make them for Monster High as well. I need to alter the pattern some so it will fit Monster High snugly. The Blythe size is ok, but it's not really fitted or tailored for Monster High.
I adore Blythe and how small and cute they are with their bobble heads, and I think that's why I equally love Monster High dolls as well. So I decided choosing those two to sew for right now was fitting. I think this will help me relax some and move on. I want to try getting a Takara Blythe this year. I have an ADG Blythe and a Blybe doll, but I really want a Takara one. I also still hope to happen upon a Hasboro Blythe, or even if it's just a head of one I can get a body for cheap so no worries there. But that would be a grail doll for sure. I just really adore the sweetness of Blythe and want to expand my collection of them. And since I will be getting rid of a lot of dolls later this year after I post my photostory, which has to be changed greatly because one of the characters was based on someone I no longer want in the story, I won't have any need for most of the dolls I have and will probably sell them as lots on Ebay or maybe as a category in my online shop. Oh, I also need to show you all the new dolls I've gotten lately. I haven't done much with them, but that will change this year as well.
So those are my plans for now. I want to take pictures of the dresses I sewed a couple of years ago and compare them to the ones I will make now. Hopefully my new ones won't make the old ones look amazing. :-) And on that note I want to wish everyone a belated Happy New Year and I hope all of you have been having a great year so far. I need to catch up with everyone so badly, just need to get out of this funk, but I will be back in top form soon. This year is going to be awesome. I just know it. Bye for now lovelies.
Ok, so the articles I am going to be writing are about Novi Stars, and I of course found their music video for the doll line, and I honestly love this video. MGA why couldn't you do this with the Bratzilla video?!?!? Watch the video below.
Awesomely cute, right? Oh don't get me wrong, the Bratzilla one was amazing too, minus my little hang-ups, but this just was so cool and I feel this is more of a positive message for kids. This makes me think of the Monster High video because it is more reflective of society to me. Take a look at the Monster High video to see what I mean.

Ok, so about a year ago, while browsing through Tuesday Morning right after Christmas, I was lucky to find one single Monster High doll. That was lucky alone, but the extra luck came when I saw it was one of the ones I really wanted and hadn't had a chance to purchase yet. It was a Draculaura doll, The "Day At The Maul" one, to be exact. I looked at her in the dim light and thought she looked perfectly cute, and at $9.99 she was steal. So home she went with me.
Now, when I got her home, I bust opened her box to enjoy my plunder of the doll shelves and was instantly disappointed. Her eye shadow on one eye was scratched, her eye was scratched, her fangs were completely off center, the heart on her face was only half finished, and she just looked so derpy. I tossed her to the side and forgot about her, thinking I'd try to fix her when I could. Today I picked her up and thought "I'm going to wipe her face and try giving her a new one.", but first I had to remove her head. So I went and used a hairdryer on her and got the head off in about 5 minutes. I thought I was ready, but figured her broom stiff bangs would cause an issue with customizing, so I washed her hair with hot water and Lever2000 bar soap. I am not sure if she is keeping her hair yet so I didn't care what the soap would do to it because it tends to be fixable.
So after a good wash to get the glue out of her bangs, I dried her off and looked at her and noticed something odd. The wonky eye I mentioned was her left eye, but it was her right eye that shocked me. Her right eyebrow is completely gone, her eyeshadow on that eye is only half there, her eyelashes on that eye have been cut in half, and on her wonky eye her eyebrow is just a bit worn and her eyeshadow on that eye is a bit worn. So the perfect looking eye was just wiped clean off. I wondered if it was the soap, since it is meant to get tough stains and grease off of hands, so I went back in and gave it a really rough cleaning in really hot water, nothing happened. So it wasn't the soap, I don't think, I think it was crap work at Mattel. The thing that gets me is that little kids are taking these dolls into their baths and the soap I used was meant for all over cleaning, it doesn't have those granules in it like the original, so it makes me think any soap would have ended in the same outcome. If a little kid had gotten my doll they would have been gutted to see their doll's face half gone. I know quality control will slip, but this is just a bit much. The doll was clearly not painted right in the first place and her face just washed off with soap and water. Oh and her hair is just pulling out and it's not from brushing as I have never brushed her hair at all. So yeah, I wonder if others from this batch ended up so bad.
I mean tell me guys, is it just me or are Monster High dolls quality just like this? Is it a hit or miss on what you will get? I only have three dolls and I plan on selling them eventually, that's for another post, and so I don't really know what to expect on Monster High dolls quality. I'm sad the paint was so messed up on this little one, but it also gives me a reason to do what I had planned to do after seeing her wonky face. I want to try customizing her and giving her new life. Excited to try it after watching some tutorials on face-ups. So yeah. I'll update you guys on how that is going. Need to get my craft area cleaned up before attempting it first and that will take a while since I need to write several Christmas articles and actually start Nanowrimo. I started on day one but haven't really worked on it. *sigh* It's day 7, I still have time. One time I had 40k to go with only three days left, and I won. So I know I can do it. Ok, getting off track here. But do tell me if you have had negative quality when it comes to your Monster High dolls.

Hey guys, I just wanted to pop on real quick to share a few things with you I’ve been meaning to talk about.
So last week I was shopping with my mom and we popped into Tuesday morning that was still pretty bare from Black Friday a week before. So while searching through the toy section I didn’t see much of interested in the girl’s side. But when I turned around just to glance at the boy’s side I found something of interest.
Monster High Day At The Maul Draculaura. I debated for a while on getting her. I have wanted DLaura since the dolls debuted. I wanted her before I wanted Frankie, but just never got her. But there she was and at $9.99 she was a steal. The thing that sold me on her was if I didn’t want her I knew I could sell her easily and get my money back. That is until I got home and my sister’s keen eye caught something I hadn’t. I must be slacking after not doll shopping for a while. Poor DLaura has a big scratch in her eye makeup on her left eye (our right). If that didn’t make me sad, what I found later did. My Tuesday Morning is really dark in the toy section and only had bright light by the door. So it wasn’t until I got her in brighter light that I noticed what I thought was off on her really was off. The outline of her facial heart wasn’t finished on one side, and her fangs were painted on crooked.
Oh sure, I know I could still sell her as is, but it just doesn’t seem right. I thought of taking her back, but my sister said I should just customize her. I have been toying with the idea of customizing Frankie, so customizing DLaura wasn’t out of the question. So I have decided to keep her and customize her. I found a cool tutorial where someone died their DLaura with RIT dye. So there are many possibilities of changing my girls into someone new. But now I have an issue. Now that I have two girls, I only have one boy. I feel off centered now. No, I am not going to collect these dolls because they would truly just be a collection for me and not of much use elsewise for me, so I just want to get one more boy to balance things out. I want Holt Hyde since I have Jackson already. I’ve wanted Holt for a while now too, so I will just get him and that will be it for Monster High for me…although…those create a monster sets look pretty cool. *sigh*
After Tuesday Morning my mom and I headed to a local Dollar Tree, also healing from the affects of Black Friday. I went for nail polish, L. A. Colors if anyone is interested, but of course had to stop by the doll section. Found one more set of the dress set that had the dress that would only fit a Monster High doll.
I decided to get one to see if that was a fluke and also so I’d have extra of the strawberry dress because I really feel that stuff is going to unravel like crazy no sooner I pull out the seams. It was the only dress set left so I figured it was meant to be. Oh and yes, that dress was a fluke.
While I was in the toy section I noticed these doll “heads” that I guess are meant to be hair styling doll heads. Wish I would have gotten a picture. When I am there this week I will get one for sure. But these heads looked very much like Barbie heads. I mean literally if you took away where we were, took away the packaging, you’d swear you’d seen those heads before. I’m really surprised Mattel hasn’t gone after these people since they are so trigger happy when it comes to suing people that are trying to get in on their turf. And there was no mistaking where these molds came from. I know a smiling face Barbie when I see one, and these dolls had that nasty face…sorry to those who like that mold.
And last but not least, I owed you all a picture of my sister’s Bei. Here she is in a Liv doll cotton candy wig and a dress that came with the dress set the wig came in. It was sold at Target if you are interested.
She is so super cute and I simply must have one. I’d love to get a tan girl one day soon. Until then I can play with my sister’s Bei that I believe has been renamed Karina. I’ll update you on that later as well. Karina will be one of the dolls receiving a new wardrobe from me. She’s got a super thick body and big hands and feet so she needs things to be altered a bit for her. I already have some great ideas in mind.
She doesn’t really have a story or personality yet, but what I have learned about her is she likes to wear cute items…as long as they aren’t pink. Ughhh! How can you have cute without pink?!? Those of you cute lovers out there who detest pink, do not attack me, I was kiddingggg. Yes, I have my work cut out for me on this. But like I said, I already have some ideas. Some of course had to be killed off because I was thinking of using dark fabrics and then remembered how resin likes to absorb dye much like Blythe dolls. So if it’s not lined it could make for a problem. I am refusing to be the reason my sister’s doll is ruined. If she ever does get ruined I promise it won’t be because of me. So yes, like I said before, I have my work cut out for me.

I hope to be back to blogging more before the end of the month, but don’t any of you dare hold me to that. Just wanted to share my finds and finally show you Bei.
