I never knew Ken was into bondage!

So I was cam chatting with my friend last night and she showed me a picture of one of her daughter’s Ken dolls.  So what was so special about this guy?  Well let me try my best to tell you the story.  Sarah correct any of this if I am wrong.  So Sarah heard her girls laughing and was wondering what was up, so she walked down the hall towards their rooms and as she got to her youngest’s room a Ken doll landed at her feet.  Looking down and seeing what was done to the poor guy she instantly felt sorry for him.  Why?  Have a look.

Ken’s having a birthday and we’re invited!

So while I’m trying to avoid buying more doll stuff and the mo’, especially Barbie stuff, I couldn’t help but look when I saw that Toys R Us was celebrating Ken’s 50th birthday by putting all Barbie items 50 percent off.  You heard right.  50 percent off of all Barbie items, and this also includes So In Style dolls as well.  Another cool thing is I believe, don’t quote me on it, but I believe it is also happening in their stores too.  Couldn’t hurt to check it out.  So if there was something you wanted but didn’t like the price or wanted to try to customize something but didn’t like the price, this is the time to do it.  They got the furniture sets half off too, and they have new ones like a laundry station and a new kitchen that I could see looking great with a coat of paint.  Also, they have some of the Roca Wear SIS dolls on the website.  They did have the one camera Barbie I wanted for just 25 dollars, but she is sold out.  I’d have to head to the store to see if she’s there and I just might.  The She Said Yes set is down to $7.50 but even then I STILL don’t want it.  LOL!  But there are some beach dolls at 3 dollars each that I AM considering.  Just for their clothing, the dolls are of no interest to me.  I feel sad that the Fashionista Kens are down to 6 dollars each and I still don’t want them because of their faces.  Oh well.  I’d rather buy Liv Jake, who I was fool and didn’t buy two weeks ago when he was half off and now he’s back to full price.  *sigh*  I’ll hold out a little longer before I break down and get him.  But yeah, just wanted to let you know about the sale and I hope this is good news to someone out there.  Happy shopping!  Smile

Have I just become bitter guys?

Photobucket

So if you haven’t heard already, Barbie and Ken have made it “official” that they are “back on” again.  Even going as far to merge their Facebook pages.  *fake doe-eyed sigh* So in love.  No seriously, when I read the official press release, I must admit, I wanted to gag.  Now is it because this is the stupidest thing known to mankind or is it that I’m an just a bitter old witch who needs to melt off a few layers of ice around her heart?  I don’t know.  I just found the whole Barbie breaking up with Ken to be stupid.  I know they were trying to generate sales and they are doing the same thing now and well they have to keep trying new things, but still, it’s stupid.  Why not try something else when it comes to Barbie like oh I don’t know, kill the pink, give her better quality clothing that covers her more and is more modest, bring her price down some, and just make her more interesting.  *sigh*  I don’t know, maybe I’m just bitter.  I still find Liv dolls more interesting, but my sister’s sudden interest in dolls again is making me look at other dolls as well.  I think I am going to get her a doll for her birthday.  Just trying to decide what kind of doll.  She wants about a 15 inch or so bjd.  I’m looking around but nothing so far.  I’ll keep looking.  She is making me want to play with my poorly neglected Bobobie sprite again.  I need to find some elastic cording for her that will make her joints hold better and get a wig that fits finally.  *sigh*  But meh, I just wanted to hop on here to really do nothing.  LOL!  I am bored and in a funky mood.  I want to do some shopping on Amazon for some books on amigurumi, so I may do that.  I also need to use up some gift cards and plan to use them online as well.  I need to get up early to make some doctors appointments, yay - not really.   Meh, don’t mind me peeps.  Just in a blah mood.  Congrats to the happy couple ^.  May they have many long years together, or may they be together until Mattel’s sales drop again, whichever comes first.  Bye y’all.

Fashionista Ken...May not be safe for work. Doll nudity.

So there's been this big stir for Fashionista Ken and when he finally came out everyone was all excited about how well he posed. Now readers of my blog know that I was excited for him to come out too, but that was for two reasons. One, I really liked his look and really wanted his hat. LOL! And two, I wanted the full Fashionista set.

On a doll board that will remain nameless, everyone was ooohing and aaaahing over how poseable he was and how Mattel finally stepped up their game. But umm, we've had this body for several years now. Were they just not paying attention, or do they think there's more to this chap than meets the eyes? Don't believe me? Have a peek. Warning, doll nudity ahead.

The front view of the dolls. We have a mix of My Scene, Flavas, and Kens here. They all share the same body. Only difference is the My Scenes have the ogre hands.

The back views of the bodies. As you can see, completely identical. The only thing different is the Fashionista Ken has a number imprinting in the plastic on his back. That's it. So, there you go people, the secret of the Fashionista Ken exposed...literally. LOL! I just wanted to share these pictures for those curious as to what his body was like. Hope this post was of some use to you. :-)
