Wordpress.

Ok, so I've started a blog on Wordpress to cross post to. I imported all my posts from my Blogger blog to there, and plan on doing a weekly import to there. I am considering in the future moving to Wordpress, so I want to try it out and see how I like it. If I don't like it, then I will just close it and be done with it. So far I still like Blogger best. Blogger is my main blog of course, but I cross post to Wordpress and LiveJournal for those friends that don't make it over to Blogger. Hi to you guys! :-) But yeah, I just wanted to explain in case anyone saw the "Testing" post earlier. I deleted it here on Blogger, but will just leave it on LiveJournal. We'll see how crazy all this cross posting will make me. LOL!

Some cuteness until I get back into the swing of things.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been posting more. Just been busy trying some Autumn cleaning...who needs Spring cleaning, and dealing with my stomach issues. But I don't want you guys to think I am not here. I am. I swear I am. *waves* I'll be catching up on comments and posting on a normal basis again starting tomorrow. Just needed the last few days of November to unwind. It hasn't been a good month, well except for finishing Nano. I haven't been out of the house for most of the month due to achy tummy and I want to go do some shop therapy to get me in better spirits. Maybe tomorrow I will be brave enough. It sucks, when I don't get out for a long time I tend not to want to go out. Sucks. Hopefully tomorrow I will get out. But to tide you over until my regular post tomorrow, I leave you with this. Just try not to crack a smile. Bet you can't do it. :-) Bye for now.

Finished Nano.

Hi in at 50,024 and I am done with NaNo for the year. I need a break so I can start editing stuff and start working on other stuff again. It was a ride and I'm glad I took it. I wrote 4 works of art and two of them I hope to actually get published. I can't believe I am done so early but I am glad I'm done early and though I wanted to be done on the 24th, being done now is just fine. :-) Happy Thanksgiving again everyone. Bye for now.

In a thinking mood...and a little doll news.

Hey guys. So this isn't doll, craft, fashion, or anything fun related. But its on my mind so I wanted to post about it.

So I don't know how many of you keep up with the news, but an event that happened here in my town became national news and well its just rubbing me the wrong way. Ok so the quick of it is that this 5 year old girl named Shaynia Davis supposedly left her mom's trailer in the middle of the night...locking the door behind her. The mom wakes up the next morning "hysterical" and calls 911. The first few seconds she was all "My baby is missing!!!" and then she calmed it down the tone of ordering a pizza. So her and this guy who was last seen with Shaynia on a hotel security camera were arrested. It seems mom sold her daughter into prostitution to pay for drugs. Anyway, poor Shaynia was raped and then chocked to death. Just writing that makes me want to cry. :-( Anyway, so the guy is being charged with rape and murder and a load of other stuff, and I hope he gets the death penalty.

Now what's rubbing me the wrong way is the father. Nancy Grace has this man pictured as the perfect father who was doing the "right" thing in letting his daughter try to form a bond with her mother. Now the mother was living with several family members in a one bedroom trailer, which is small, and it was filthy. She was getting evicted because it was so filthy. Any good parent would not leave their child in that. But still they peg this man as a saint. When he's on tv, he does this dry-eyed crying and he stresses to point of being creepy about how his daughter is angel now and he prays God won't give up on him or his baby who is right there with him.

Ok so this guy is white and has 10 children all over the United States and I believe all of them are biracial. None of his kids are living with him. It seems all of them are being raised by other men. So how is it people don't see this as weird and are just pegging him the perfect dad? Seriously? I do not think that man is as innocent as people say his is. Shaynia's mom is not smart. You can see it in her face on tv. She doesn't have the gutter mind to come up with this whole thing of selling her daughter. Someone was behind it and honestly I am wondering if it was the father. I mean he has 10 different kids with 10 different women. What is up with that? I'm sure the police are still investigating, but I'm so sick of everyone pegging him as this perfect father who lost his daughter tragically. If he'd been any kind of parent that little girl would still be here. It kills me that she's gone and in a way that should have never happened.

Ok, I just needed to get that off my chest. Now as I promised, some doll news. I just learned that the Toys R Us website has the Fashionista Ken for sale for $11.99 with free shipping if you spend $49. Now I don't have the need to spend that much and I honestly don't want to pay the 5 dollar shipping so I will wait and see if he shows up in the stores or on Amazon.com for a good price. But thought I'd pass that on for those who are in the market to do some serious toy or doll shopping.

Ok, I am off to work on my NaNo stuff again. I plan to be done by tomorrow. I won't be adding on to my word count after I validate only because I need a break from writing novels and to get back to crafting and fun things. I'll also be back to working on the doll forum too. I have not given up on that I promise! For those who want to sign up and get their name there while I finish up my NaNo stuff you can go to The Toy Box and sign up. ALso if you have any doll friends let them know about the forum. It'd be great if anyone wanted to post about the forum on their blog to help me get the word out. The first 50 people get instant access to Marketplace. After that you'll have to follow some rules to get access. So be sure to mention that and I will be working on the forum over Thanksgiving and will remind you about it again a few days. Its for all kinds of dolls. So bring them all and let's have fun. :-)

Ok guys. I am back to writing before I lay down for an hour or so. I barely slept last night...well this morning. :-) Bye for now.

Am I the only one who's bored?

I'm sitting here updating Perfect World and while I am waiting for it to finish I am watching the Jeff Dunham show. Does anyone else feel like this show took away from his act being funny? I've seen every show in hopes it would get better. I have not laughed once at this show but his stage shows have me crying from laughing so hard. Its sad actually. Oh well. Ok just had to spout some nonsense. Talk to you all later.

Ugh, just when I think I have the whole collection...

Then I find out this guy has been released. And well...of course I want him!

Photobucket

Online shops have him already and are selling him for 20 bucks. A little much for me when the gals are cheaper in the stores. So I will have to sit on my hands and wait until he shows up in the stores too, but damnit!!! And I wish that there were going to be variations on him. I mean we are starting to see variations in the dolls that Mattel produces, but for a good while now we have been stuck with Caucasian Ken, nothing wrong with that mind you, but I'd like some variations. I'd like to see Ken have some friends from other backgrounds so they can be their own doll and not a tinted Ken. They haven't done that in a good while. And I don't recall ever seeing an Asian or Hispanic guy in the Ken/Barbie mix...Disney dolls do not count.

So, is anyone else excited about this guy? Or am I just a doll geek all on my own? LOL! If so, it's ok. I don't mine being a geek all alone. :-) If you are curious about where this doll is being sold let me know and I will provide you a link. I'm so tempted to buy him, but I'm sure he will hit shelves soon. Anyone got any info on when that will be? I can't seem to find any. Ok, talk to you all later. I'm off to eat and then exercise. Ugh...20 miles. Why can't I just sew clothes or craft or write instead? Oh yeah...I'm trying to lose weight and get healthy. Oh well. Bye for now. :-)

An update!

Ok, so I am giving up on writing for today and decided to update here real quick before bed.

So I wasn't sure what to talk about first. So I will just talk about what came first. My Barbie Fashionistas. I just recently completely my collection. Very excited about that. I was going to switch the last three blondes I got out with other dolls, but I just can't ruin the set. Ugh! Oh well. Here is some pic spam of my girls plus my Alvin Ailey doll.

All the Girls Together

Alix

I love these gals. I can't wait to get them in some photostories and in some clothes to take pictures of them. Of course my camera is getting ready to die and I am out of batteries. Ugh! Oh well, I will get some soon enough. Just being lazy now. But they are just to cool.

So from there I go into the crafts I have been working on.

Crafted Poofs

The knitted poofs, made on my grandmother's vintage knitting machine, are going to be made into something. I've already made one thing and I am not a big fan of it, but it was a prototype. I will take a picture of it soon for you all. Just need to get my sister to model it for me. But hummmm, what could this be for? :-)

Next is a doll craft.

Kitchen Sink

So I have a doll house I have used in doll photostories once or twice but I hated it because it doesn't have a kitchen sink. How weird is that? So I wanted to make one. My mom had a bathroom sink to one of my sisters old Barbie bathrooms and I started thinking on how to make it work. Then I got a box a while back that was perfect Barbie height and island width. So the other day when I was feeling sick, to get my mind off things I went to work on it. Its still a work in progress. This first picture is where I glued the sink into a hole I cut into the box. It needed to be weighed down.

The Kitchen Sink

This next one is it all glued together with the sink painted a metallic grey. Also you can barely see it, but there are pin posts in the cabinet doors. I thought they would work but I didn't like them. But I already glued them in. Damn! But I adjusted them to make them a little more visible. Pictures to come of the final product soon.

And one more picture for you comedy relief.

A Lazy Moment

A couple of weeks ago I was sitting in my craft room on the laptop getting into something online. I didn't want to get up and turn the light on when it started to get dark, but I couldn't see the plug under my desk to plug in my laptop. So what did I do? I tried to flash the camera so I can use the flash to guide my hand. Well...the flash was to quick so I had to get up any way. *FAIL* LOL! So yeah, in case any of you wanted to know, the camera flash is to quick to use as a light. Ok that just gave me an idea for a thriller/horror story. Hummm...yep, gonna use it in a story that I am continuing on next month.

Well, I had better stop before I write a novel. Just wanted to update you all on what I have been up to. I am off now to feed my ferret, brush my teeth, and crawl into bed with a book. Tomorrow I need to get back to writing...but what? Hummm...I'll worry about it tomorrow. Bye for now.

Taking a writing break.

Ugh, I am burned out almost. I don't know how the people trying for a million words this month are doing it. 50k in a month is hard. I am just a hair over 36k and I am getting burned out already. I ran out of outlined stories so I am pulling things from my rear. I wrote one story already and I am working on a new one. Its going ok, and I am sure it will get me past the 14k I need, but I so want to quit this and start working on photostory script. I have been making props, I have the dolls I wanted to get, and now I want to start to do some photostories in December. Meh, we'll see. For now I shall keep writing until I reach 50k and then see what I want to do. Just wanted to check in and say hi. I have some pictures of what I have been working on and doing lately, but that will come later on this week when I am a little more awake. I have started doing 20 miles a day on my exercise bike and it wears me out. On top of that I've been so sick with stomach issues. So I may be missing for a bit longer but I shall come back to you. I promise. Bye for now.

Oh and Happy Birthday to A! :-)

Had to share this.

Yes people, I am still alive!!! :-D Still working hard on my Nano novel. I miss blogging here everyday though, but I just don't have time for it just yet. Another couple days and I will return here with some new things I want to try out. I'm thinking of adding some vlogs to the blogs. Got some things I want to share that I think would work better in video form. So in the new year I am going to try to post some video blogs for you all. Ok, so I saw something online today that I just had to share. Its doll related, but it just made me "chortle" so I had to share.

So yeah, that's about it for today. I will try to update here again later on this week. I'm off to exercise, play some Sims 2, and then work on the novel.

I've finished my first novel for the month!

Clocking in at 21,867 words, my first novel for the month is done and way ahead of schedule too. :-) So happy. I am about to jump into novel number two, and I hope to be done with it soon so I can try outlining a third story for the month that is about Christmas. It will be a short story that I may try to get published in the local newspaper. We'll see. So yeah, just wanted to report on that and share this commercial with you. Its the new PC vs. Mac commercial and it makes me giggle every time I see it. So enjoy and I will return to you all soon once the month is over. NaNo has taken over my life right now...and I love it. ;-)
