Huge

Hey guys, just wanted to pop on here real quick to give a review on a show I watched.  So ABC Family, oh this is in the US for my readers elsewhere, has a show they premiered called HUGE.  It’s about a co-ed weight loss summer camp for teens.  At first I thought it was suppose to be a movie when I saw the previews for it, since most young adult shows are based on the “pretty people”.  Please note that I was being sarcastic when I said pretty people.   Anyway, so it stars the pretty chicka from Hair Spray.  Can’t think of her name, but she played the lead role, google it people.  Anyway, so the show stars off at the beginning of camp where everyone has to wear their swimsuits to take a before picture.  Already from this point we see that Will, Hair Spray chicka, is going to be an issue.  She’s “proud” of who she is and what she looks like and is none to happy to be at a fat camp.

I am going to try to not say to much about the show in case you want to watch it.  But you got all your typical stereotypes in the.  The pretty one who doesn’t know she’s pretty and is shy when boys show her attention.  The sidekick best pal to the main character.  The chick with the “deep issue” and her best friend.  The cute guy that all the girls want, and of course it seems like the pretty girl will be the one who gets him.  Then there is the guy who likes the pretty girl, but she doesn’t see him and the main girl who is ignored by him seems to like him.  So you getting the idea here?  A regular young adult show.

Now at first I kind of felt the show was being stereotypical and poking fun at the “fat kids”, but as the show went on it took a nice turn.  It focused more on the teenagers in general and not on their bodies.  I found this to be encouraging for young adults and teens to see people their own age and perhaps that look like them going through the same struggles they are.  I’m really hoping that this show will be inspiring to teens to lose weight and get healthy, but also that it will show them that their fat isn’t want makes them.  That they are who they are regardless of what size they and that they should just continue to be themselves and realize that we all go through crap at that age and it really doesn’t have a lot to do with our weight but a lot to do with just the age and the inexperience and most time lack of maturity.

I do see some plots have already been formed for future episodes and I wonder if these show is going to be one of those light-hearted shows or if it will be more raw and real.  I’ll keep you updated on how it goes.  It really could go either way.  On a side note, I saw the new trailer for the first installment for the last Harry Potter movie and this time it is in 3D.  Now I truthfully don’t know if I will be seeing it in 2D or 3D.  I’m worried 3D will make me sick from watching it.  But I am trying to get someone to go see it with me and my sister and if he does I know he will want to see 3D.  I’ve never seen a movie in 3D so it would be an experience but I just don’t want it to be a bad one.  Well, it doesn’t come out until November, so I have time to decide.  Anyone else excited to see it?

Ok, well I am off.  Kind of feeling ill to the tummy today.  Didn’t get to craft or clean at all today.  Hopefully tomorrow.  Talk to you all then.  Bye for now.

Its weigh-in Saturday people!

Hey guys! Today is weigh-in Saturday. I hate having to report my "official" weigh-in for today. Why you may ask? Look below to see.

Yep, I gained 2 pounds overnight. I owe it to the pizza I had before bed. It was really salty and I barely drank any water yesterday so I must have retained water. This is going to have to change. I used to drink a lot of water but the holidays had me getting lazy and drinking less water and more cocoa and soda. Not good. So I am back to drinking mostly water with occasional cocoas in between. Just water gets so bland and rather quickly, but I will get back on track.

Well that's all I wanted to post about in this one. Hope you are having a grand Saturday! :-)

Post 160 and first post of 2010!

Photobucket

Hey guys, how was your New Years Eve and day? Mine was uneventful, but can't complain. So I am still trying to get into the groove of things after taking such a long break from everything. I know I have some comments to get back to, and several other things to attend to, and I plan to do a lot of that this weekend. Today I was just still in an odd funk. First day of the year is always like that for me. Its not until the second day when we are officially "into" the year that I shrug it off and say "Oh well, here goes another year," and then I trudge on.

So in thinking about the new year, I made NO resolutions. They never pan out. But I DO want to lose weight this year. Sure there are several other things, but the weight has been the one thing that has been holding me back and changing who I am. I don't like that any more and haven't like myself for a couple of years now due to how the weight makes me feel mentally and physically. So today is the first day of many that I will fight the battle of the bulge. So I am issuing a challenge to myself. Feel free to join me if you'd like.

The House of Mouse Valentine's Day Challenge!

The rules are, I have to strive to lose 10-13 pounds by Valentine's day. That is my goal, but I will be happy with whatever I lose personally. I will do a weekly weigh in on Saturdays. That seems to be a good weigh in day. Always loved Fridays and Saturdays. Especially Saturdays. So I will weigh in on Saturday. Today will be a two day weigh in week since I started weighing today. So expect another weigh in tomorrow. I hope it doesn't go up overnight. LOL! So here is my weight loss ticker.

Like I said, feel free to join me. Now I want this done in as much of a healthy way as possible. Take if from a girl who knows. I have done so many fad diets and I lost weight on all of them, then put the weight back on and then some. One day when I get to a certain goal weight I will tell you all the highest weight I got to due to fad diets. You'll swear off them forever. ;-) So here's to be healthier in 2010! :-)

Ok, I'm off. If you have made a comment, thank you for them, and I will respond to them this weekend. :-) Bye kids, talk to you all tomorrow. :-)

Rabbits, rabbits, rabbits.

Photobucket

Happy December everyone! Wow, can you believe we are at the end of another year? Couple of more days and we will be saying hi and bye to Santa then mourning the death of 2009 and celebrating the birth of 2010. Crazy huh? Well I plan to be productive this December. I don't know if I will be doing a lot with my shop this month since I am debating on just putting up a few things on Etsy instead of having an Artfire or keeping Artfire for certain things and Etsy for doll related stuff. Don't know yet. Until I fully decide, I won't stress about it. What I want to stress over is clearing up my bookmarks and getting to back into the doll community that I pulled myself out of a while back. I still plan to talk about other things in my blog like writing, weight loss, random topics, fashion, etc., but I also want to talk about dolls more since I have once again found myself loving them again. And since I have found some lovely new doll friends and found more blogs I can read I plan on redoing my links to reflect that more so I can visit those blogs at least once a day or when time permits during the week.

What else? Oh yeah, so the cleaning up to much stuff doesn't just stop at all the links I have acquired. It also hints on the stuff I own. I am trying to cut back on a lot of stuff from dolls to clothes to videos...yes I said videos. Well yesterday I read, in one of my man Fitness magazines that I am trying to get rid of, that you have to alter your exercise so your body doesn't get used to it and make you stop losing. So I decided to do weights and I knew of a video I had that was good. So I went on the hunt for it in my room. And well in finding it I found something else. You'll see what below.

Exercise Videos and DVDs

That there are 20 exercise videos and dvds I have collected over the years. Barely used most of them are, and one isn't even opened! I just would see a cheap exercise video and think "Well maybe that will be the one to make me like exercise again." And well, yeah it didn't and I would forget about it and then find another cheap video. Oh man. And if you notice, Richard Simmons is most defiantly there. Three videos to be exact. I could never get into the Disco Sweat mind you...I felt silly. But...I might try it if it is something fun. I tried it once when I was younger and well I felt so silly, but now I think I am beyond that stage of having to look "cool" at all times. LOL!

Exercise Videos and DVDs

Another view of my exercise videos and dvds. I mean wow. And that's just a tiny part of my collection of videos and dvds. I am thinking of getting rid of most of my videos. I might try to sell some on my blog in the future to see if anyone is interested in them. They won't be for much. Just enough to make a little something on them to help me buy a doll or two. LOL! So what else?

Oh yeah, so I am working some furniture for some stories I plan on doing. I am still working on the kitchen sink. I actually pulled the sink apart and redid it because it was centered in the island and when I put a doll against it after it was all done I was broken-hearted to see that it was to awkward for a doll to use. So I took it apart and now I like it. At first I didn't want to take it apart but the perfectionist part of me wouldn't let me rest unless I did and I am so happy I did. Now there is counter surface which I wanted. I will take pictures of it later when I seal and finish it.

Office Desk

The other piece of furniture will be made from this. I had this dresser when I was a kid and got rid of it when I was older. I was happy to find it again when I was in the Salvation Army a while back. The mirror wasn't there, but I still saw potential in it. I think it would make a great desk. So I am working on it. I wanted to take a before picture before I started on it. Pictures of it soon, maybe tomorrow, of the work in progress.

Well that's about it for me today. Oh, before I go, I wanted to share this with you. My sister showed it to me the other day and it just made me giggle. Hope you enjoy.

Ok ladies and gents, I will talk to you lovelies later...tomorrow. :-) Be good until then, and bye for now! :-D

I'm backkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!

Photobucket

Did you miss me? Did you? Did you?! Did you?!? I hope so. ;-)

So what has my sexy self been up to? Not a damn thing. :-D Ok, so maybe not that. Let's see here. I went through my sad moment that kept me from feeling like blogging. Then I was dealing with some stuff with a friend who is trying to get away from her husband...still dealing with that and I am SO torn on what to do. Part of me wants to help her get away and the other part of me wants them to make up for the kids' sake. Its just so confusing with that, and I may post more about that in another post. Right now, this is all about moi. :-D

I've also been outlining for two novels I will be writing next month. So far its going ok, but time is running out and I still outlining novel one and the second one I am still trying to figure out. Ahhhh...I want to be ready to go by October 31st. *sigh* Anyone else joining me in this chaos? Please do, we can cheer each other on. :-)

What else? Oh, I've decided to donate some dolls to chartity. It seems there won't be enough toys to go around this year for the kids. So I am planning on cleaning up some of the dolls I have and sew them a little dress and baggie and send them on their way to the Salvation Army. I hope my little bit can help make a Happy Christmas for someone. But I need to get working on that now. This November is going to be crazy. I still need to find an easy pattern to sew. I want to make it so I can sell them also when I get back to my shop that I need to put on vacation mode for November. With my friend coming back to town, me trying to get back on track with life, writing two novel, doing dolls for chairity, Thanksgiving, my dad getting ready to retire and helping my mom get ready for that...well trying to run a shop just doesn't work for me right now. :-( I only have three things up right now, so that's ok, but I wish I could have sold something. Here is the link, I have put it in vaca mode, but you can see some of what I've been working on up in the banner. The Goodie Bag

I will put it back up after NaNoWriMo is over. Hope I can still get into some of the Christmas action. I would like to be up and open for Black Friday, that weekend, and then Black Monday with a sale on items. Will have to see how things turn out.

Ok, just curious, does anyone think this Hard Rock Cafe Barbie looks a bit like Amy Winehouse?

Photobucket

Ok, that was just nagging me, so I had to mention it. LOL! Ok, is there anything else? Oh, I am going up and down when it comes to my exercise and diet. I was doing good and got to 2 and half weeks of exercising every day, then one day it was cold and I didn't feel like doing it and BAM! no more exercise for 2 days. Need to do it today, but don't want to. Will do it around 10. I will stick to 15 miles a day instead of 15 miles twice a day. That just makes me not want to do it. But I can do 10 miles to quickly now. Ugh! And the diet has been crap lately. Ugh! Ok, enough about that. I need to call my friend in a few so I will close for now. Talk to you all tomorrow.

I return.

Sunset 7/22/09

Hey guys! I know, I've been MIA for a while now. Why? Because of several reasons actually. First off, I didn't really have anything to blog about. I am mostly in the progress of making stuff for my shop and researching up on my shop about things like when I will need to look into getting a tax number and whether or not I want to pay to get verified now or later. Since I am just trying things out, I figure I will try basic for a month and if I do well I will try becoming verified. We'll see what happens.

But yeah, I've mostly been catching up on watching things online while I knit. I have some cute things made already and I love them all. I also bought some fabric transfer stuff to make labels for everything, but still am trying to decide on a logo. So I am doing a lot of work on this and trying to make my dream a reality finally.

What else? Hummm, I have decided I want to make my blog more about me. I have never been the one to make anything about me, and I think that's why I had MySpace and Facebook so much. I killed my MySpace and only reopened my Facebook to keep up with the few friends there, especially one of my friends who is recently pregnant. Love ya Heather! Oh my, did I just do a shoutout in my blog? LOL! But yeah, I want to let my readers know more about me and really just start enjoying blogging again. So expect some pictures of interesting things in my life to be popping up soon. Just need to edit and pop them into Flickr. I won't show them all at once so I don't run out of material and then disappear again for a couple of weeks. LOL! But yeah, I'm still here. Just been busy. I'm also trying again to lose weight and I will update my ticker on here for Weigh-In Wednesday for those of you interested in that. Not much writing has been going on...kind of hard to knit and write at the same time...but I have been writing ideas for stories down as they come to me. I am REALLY thinking about going back to school for a degree in writing. Is that crazy? Ok, I know it is, but I really want it. We'll see.

Speaking of books. This morning I finished reading a novella that was just so sweet. Now mind you, it was a romance novella AND it play a lot on using your imagination...which kind of put me off...but for what it was worth, it was a sweet story. It is part of a collection of romance novella's in this book I got at the Dollar Tree. If you are into reading romance novels or novellas then check out the Dollar Tree this week. I know all of mine in town have the books so others must too. I want to go back and get a few more, but I will wait until I finish the few I bought and if there are any left then I will get them. But for now I have a shelf full of books I need to read. But this story was based on an elderly woman who lived her whole life alone because she didn't listen to her heart and marry a man she had just met a Christmas party that was held for the troops getting ready to take off for England during World War II. I like the basis for the story and if some of the parts of it weren't so drawn out like the kept stressing how it was all possible due to Christmas Magic and how she went back in time for second chance, and well it was kind of korny in the sense, but the structure for the story was pretty good. I'm on the second novella now, and so far it starts off korny. We'll see where it ends up. Oh for those who don't know, a novella is basically a short story between 17,500 to 40,000 words or about 50-100 pages long. So not really a novelette and not really a novel. Just in between.

Humm, anything else? Guess not now. I have pictures to show you, like I said, but that will be in other posts. So I guess I will close for now. Its almost 2:30 in the morning and I am ready to do some exercise. LOL! Talk to you all later. Be good until then. :-)

Weigh-in Wednesday

As you can see, I suck at the weight loss this week. I know its an excuse but I blame it on the fact that my boyfriend is in Puerto Rico and we only have contact through one or two emails a day. He left Saturday and won't be back until Saturday. For those who don't know, we are in a long distance relationship and have been so for a long while now. In this time I have never gone a day without chatting to him or talking to him. It was so form of "live" interaction. Now I have to go a week without that and its killing me. The first night was hard, and I knew it would be. Whenever he accidentally falls asleep and doesn't call me at night I have a hard time sleeping. Saturday night was no different. Sunday was a little harder because I had to go another night without him. Monday was a hair better. Tuesday was a little better than that. I'm hoping tonight will be better than that. I joked in an email to him that I am getting used to not hearing his voice at night, but that wasn't an excuse for him not to call at night. :-) On the plus side, he misses my voice too. :-) So I think once he's home safe and sound...and off the plane...I will be able to get more hardcore with my dieting. School is coming fast. Oh, speaking of, I got accepted. Yeah me...I suppose. Not having that happy gotta do the Snoopy dance feeling, but I am sure things will get more exciting the closer I get to school time and once my FASFA goes through. Ok, I've gabbed enough. Talk to you lovelies later.

Weigh-In Wednesday!

Hey all, so as some of you know, I am in need of losing weight. And I am not talking about a few vanity pounds. I'm talking about another person of pounds. So I have decided to post here about my weight on Wednesday and let you know how I am doing. This will help me be accountable and maybe help me lose weight. I will only post about my weight on Wednesday and I won't post about weight on any other day but that day so this blog won't turn into a weight loss blog. More after the cut.

So I have a goal in mind what I want to weigh by the end of the year, when HOPEFULLY my boyfriend will come visit me. Which will be the time I will try my hardest to convince him to move here to be with me. So I have to be in good health and shape to do that. So I am trying to diet, but so far, with holding myself accountable I have been eating what I want when I want. Depression is a bitch ladies and gentlemen and she likes chocolates and cookies. *sigh*

So here we go, day one. In a week I will weigh in and post a tracker on how I am doing. Not sure if I will post my actual weight or just how much I have lost. I'll think about it. So be here next Wednesday to check my progress. Yeah!!!

ETA: So I decided to go ahead and put the ticker up now. This ticker shows how much weight I have to lose to get to my first goal weight. I hope to reach it fairly quickly. It was holiday weight I never lost. LOL! So here's hoping. :-)
