I’m Getting Old

I really am.  I just don’t understand the youth of today.  Ok so backstory, I went searching for crafters in my state on Twitter to see if there was a hashtag for them or even if there were any active people on Twitter.  I didn’t find any so I redid my search for people in Fayetteville and my search showed several people.  Great, I thought.  So I started looking down the list and one of the top posts was from this young man who’s an up and coming rapper/r&B/hip hip singer who said that basically men in town think the women in town are hoes.  Then he added on that that thought was mostly true.  That made my mouth drop.  I don’t know what kind of women he is hanging out with, but I can only assume they are on the same maturity level as him to make such a bold and insulting comment about women like that.  And it’s not like he figured no one would see it, he posts his Twitter account everywhere.  This just highly insulted me.

I mean he’s saying this on a public forum and in one breath he says he’s a gentleman and loves his hometown then he says the women are all hoes and he needs to get out of this place.  I honestly can’t stand people like that.  How do you expect to gain and keep an audience if you insult the audience you are targeting?  And it doesn’t matter he just insulted Fayetteville women because most women will think twice about supporting a man who refers to a bulk of women as that.  And what got me even more was in one of his music videos he has a young lady barely dressed and rubbing her body all over him while he sings…raps…oh whatever he’s doing.  I’m talking bra, panties, and straight crotch shots here.  She was, from what I could understand, a girl who was a sister of a friend.  And I’m guessing she was considered “classy” in his eyes.  *shrugs*  Sorry, I know I should just let it go, but it just ticked me off.  I’m tired of people saying bad things about my city and the people in it.  This young man must not have seen the backlash another recent rapper from town got just from showing the town in a bad light. I can imagine what he’d get if more women in town learned he called most of them hoes.  But whatever.  Youth of today, kind of scares me.

But anyway, what I really wanted to do was hop on here and promote a Facebook fan page me and another crafty friend made together called Cape Fear Creates.  If any of my readers are from the Cape Fear River region in NC we really want to encourage you to join us.  But the group is open to anyone, crafters, artisans, designers, creators, and those who love to buy handmade.  We are trying to form a group of local talent to discuss and form ways to promote our crafts and shops to the local community and other places.  You know, the whole strength in numbers deal.  We are currently 5 strong, we just started it yesterday, but we are hoping that number will be much larger soon.  Fingers crossed  So if you are interested hope on over and “LIKE” us.  Smile

Also, does anyone have a Google+ (Google Plus) account?  Not sure if I asked this before.  I’m there, but haven’t started using it yet, but thought I might use it moreso than Facebook because it’s a little more like blogging and Twitter where it’s not “exclusive” like Facebook.  If you have one I would love for you to drop me a link in the comments what your url is and I’ll be more than happy to add you to my circle.  Smile

What else?  Oh, layout updating coming, a special promotion post coming as a thank you to some people, and just some more information about me in general.  So stay tuned for that.  Smile   And that’s about it for today.  I’m off to go do something constructive until I get sleepy.  I will talk to you all soon.  Be good until then.  Have an awesome weekend.  And bye for now.  Smile

Loves ya Red heart,
Mouse

  1. I just liked that page... even though I'm from Asheboro, and not the Cape Fear region.
